I had replied to lots of posts last night but none are on the forum Anyway thanks for the msg's about suzie i know i did the right thing but it just didn't feel like it at first . I am so glad my info has helped you to get her sorted . I think annie has done very well to get this far , pigs dont do well with teeth problems and are a nightmare under aneasthetic . The people who live near the CCT are very lucky but for someone like myself who has to rely on a normal vets then i personaly would have a pig with dental problems PTS now because i have watched too many die after ops or dental . Only time will tell on how quickly the spurs grow back and then only you can decide if its fair to put her through it all again . I really hope this will be a one off and Annie has many years left with you . Get well soon Annie x

celia - Have you tried contacting the CCT to see if there is a rodentologist near you? I live about 80 miles away from the CCT so I was told by Vedra about a rodentologist who lives near Derby and I go to her as much as I can now.

I hope you can find someone. I'm still trying to find a good vet myself who will do work without anaesthetic just in case my rodentologist isn't available. I need to find a backup without having to travel the 80 miles to the CCT!

Hi Amy, It is so hard to tell how she is doing...she seems abit flat in mood today but maybe she is just sleepy and she might have more energy later. she ate a tiny bit of lettuce yesterday and then went back down to her litter box and just didnt look happy so that worried me slightly. her weight has not changed so thats good As if things werent bad enough all the piggies seem to have poopy butt this week after i gave them a different hay on Sunday I will post about this separately! xx

Aww....bless her. Anaesthetics can knock them about a bit, hopefully she'll be ok soon. I'm willing her to get well! I've got worries too at the minute as Ruby is having to stay with the rodentologist for a while as she was squeaking when she urinated and I noticed there was blood in it. We're hoping it's just an infection and nothing more serious. These gorgeous animals don't half know how to make us worry!
Thinking of you and Annie still xxx

oh no, im sorry to hear about Ruby. I have my fingers crossed for her and hope it is just an infection that can be easily treated. Yes our animals sure do know how to worry us!!! Annie has been going around the cage looking a bit bewildered the last few days and she keeps jumping into litter boxes that already have piggies in them and scaring them all out. There has been a huge amount of bickering going on. Im wondering are the meds making her act abit crazy because this is very unlike her. Usually the other piggies boss her around but iv seen her doing a good bit of antagonising this week! Or i wonder has all this special treatment turned her into a princess overnight Either way im just happy she has some spirit back in her! Im thinking of you and Ruby and wish her a speedy recovery xxx

Thanks Luna. We're going to try and phone tomorrow for an update and we've got everything crossed that it will be good news. It's good that Annie has spirit in her, I always prefer it if my piggies fight me when they're ill as it shows they still have plenty of strength in them!
