I just checked on my piggies and after reading a thread on here, I checked underneath them all, and found that Warren seems to have a swollen toe... This is his bad foot... And this is his other one for comparison.. The second toe from the right on the first picture seems a lot bigger than the others.. He lives on the bottom part of the cage, which doesn't have a built in floor, due to it being used to put on the grass in the summer, but as it's winter I don't want to put them out on the grass, so they're behind my garage in a sheltered area. The floor is stone slabs, I've put a plastic sheet and lots of hay on the floor, so the hay doesn't get wet from the floor and they have plenty to eat. Warren used to use the whole hutch, but due to fighting, he stays in the bottom with Brendan. Is it too uncomfortable for them? Should I put something to make the ground softer? Brendan's feet are absolutely fine, as this is the first under pig check I've done, is it likely that this is how his feet are usually or is he more sensitive than his brother? I've asked all these things on here first before booking a vet appointment, just in case I'm worrying too much.

It looks like it could be a broken toe. Is the floor they live on solid, ie plastic/wood covered in a bedding?
Will he allow you to touch it without pain or pulling away?
Does it feel swollen or like there fluid there?

The floor is stone, but the hay was getting wet so I put a plastic tarpaulin sheet on the bottom, we then put hay on top of this and it doesn't seem to move. They are able to climb up the ladder and possibly fall off though. When we touch it he seems fine and doesn't pull away. The actual toe feels quite solid, and feels the same as the other feet.

The toe actually looks a little bit darker than the other toes, like it's bruised. It's also got a tiny little cut on it. When piggies fight I heard that they go for the feet because they're easy to get, is this true? And if so, do you think the fighting could have caused his toe to swell?

Ahh it could well be a bite injury yes. Pigs tend to go for ears, mouths and feet when fighting.
Keep an eye on it, keep it clean and make sure the pigs dont fight. they arent daft and will go for the same injured place.

Okay, Thank you very much. It doesn't seem to be causing him any pain, but is there anything in particular that I can do? The piggies are separated since the Brendan incident, however a few days ago me and the bf had two each inside for some floor time, Brendan and Warren were on the floor and Vincent and Zac were on the sofa. Vincent started to try climb down to the floor and at the same time Warren and Brendan tried to climb up. We put Vincent on the floor as it looked like they wanted to see each other, and then it appeared like they were pop corning, but then it started to smell really bad. Do boars spray each other when they don't get along?

Boars spray to assert dominance and to show off in front of other pigs. It stinks to high heaven!!
The only thing you can do with the toe is keep an eye on it. If its not causing pain i wouldnt worry too much,

I agree, if it isn't hurting him then it's probably fine. Keep an eye on it but fingers crossed it's okay.

Thank you very much =) He is walking around fine so hopefully everything will be okay. It really did smell! Luckily for the bf.. he had a cold and a lolly-pop so couldn't smell it -.- unfortunately for me, I could smell it very well -.- Although, I'd rather them spray than fight and get hurt =S
