Hi everyone, This is my first post and hopefully the right place to post. I just brought home a 4 week old guinea pig that only weighs 146 grams! I can feel her spine so easily. I got her from my work, which is a feed store. The piggie, I named her Princess Leia, was dropped off on one of my days off on Tuesday. When we get an animal, we always try to write down what info the previous owner knows about them and the owners info. So the woman that was working wrote down her birthday as 11/19/14. She came in alone. She's a she. When I first saw her I immediately thought she was too small to be away from her mom. All she did that day was eat and drink. This morning I tried calling the owner and it was a disconnected number. Anyway! I got her a cage, kiln dried pine shavings, Timothy hay because we didn't have alfafa, and Mazuri gpig good. I also put a small hand towel in so she could keep warm, though right now she is in my lap in towel. Is there anything more I can feed her to up her weight? Her fur is kinda raggedy and her eyes aren't shiny. Would a pedialyte-water mix be good? I called my regular vet and they are closed until the 26th. I already made an appointment for that day, I just want her to make it. Thank you, everyone, for your help.

Hay, veggies and pellet food should do the trick. Keep things simple. Shes still young. Slow and steady weight gain is key.
You can feed oats too as these are a good thing to add. Readi grass is also loved by many.
