Well after loosing Scott I was really nervous about taking them but I knew it was for the best as I had been finding red/orangey patches all over the cage and then on Saturday night we found a lump on Soo on her genitals! :-(
Anyway went to the vets today and all is well! Sooty has a bladder infection as I suspected luckily he had a little wee in the box so the vet could see :-) so we have antibiotics for that also got him cranberry juice to help as well and well Soo he wasn't sure and said I was too keep an eye on it for a few days and if it got bigger, or changed at all to bring her back and he would remove it... But after Scott I'm worried about putting her under I mean she's younger than my boys and the lump is nothing compared to Scott's but I'm still a little hasty... Has anyone had anything like this before?
Thanks Katie

It's a small hard lump at the top of her genitials... It's about the size of an m&m, it's quite red but she doesn't bother too much when your touching but when the vet was squeezing it she squeaked a bit but not totally squealing if you know what I mean... Don't think it's an abscess cause it's hard and don think it's big enough to be an abscess but I could be wrong ...

How old is Soo? How experienced is your vet with piggies?

She's coming up 4ish years (got her from pets at home so don't know exact age but we've had her 4 years) in September. The vets alright... It wasn't the usual girl I see so I'm not sure how experienced he is to be honest but he seems to know some stuff.
Checker the lump today and I'm now convinced it's an abscess as it looks like it's about to burst.. It's got like a reddish patch on it with a few bits of pus around it.. Its not any smaller so don't think it's burst yet but I am worried as I start work again tomorrow and not sure when I could get her to a vet .. There also seems to be some gunky green stuff coming from her vagina... Which may be from the lump as it is right above the opening :-( I don't know what to do really... On the plus side sooty seems to be a lot better!

It sounds like she could use a course of antibiotics at the very least. Try to keep her as clean as you can so that she doesn't become irritated or get any secondary infections in her skin.

Okay thanks! Will try as she hates being picked up let alone cleaned! Lol I struggle to do her nails too! Lol she's a pain really but don't want her to be suffering or getting really ill :-(
Thanks again Katie
