I'm looking after a friends boar while she's on holiday and I've noticed that he's pooing strangely, I believe he's about 5 and a half, I don't think he's impacted but I've never had boars so I could be wrong. What I've noticed is that he seems to poo very slowly, so he wanders around with half a poo hanging out till he manages to finish the job. I just picked him up and he actually had two poking out, it must be uncomfortable poor fella. They are a little soft so I was wondering if this is due to them being to soft to get out easily or a weakening of his muscles or maybe a bit of both?? Has anyone come across this before and is there anything that can be done? Thanks guys

If poop is getting stuck it could be he has a slight impaction, best thing to do is check the anal sack to make sure its not blocked (not a nice job and it smells horrible)

I've had a feel around and can't feel any impaction, once he's finished pooing it doesn't seem there's anything else to come out. He also poos loads, way more than my girls.

I wouldnt no, If you are worried and havent already, if you spread his anal sack lightly, to check the inside area (for any stuck bedding/hay or poop)
The fact he is passing poop is a good sign.

I had a look as best I could but can't see anything, only thing is when I apply pressure his bum looks a bit dirty but I guess that's normal?

My boys seem to go like this when they hit about five years old. Walking around with a poop hanging out with no shame whatsoever I've found they tend to be a little impacted from time to time, not constantly. As Kayleigh said, have a look to see if there's a mass of poop stuck and listen to make sure he's not crying when pooping. But if he's pooping a lot then he's more than likely okay. EDIT: Also, one of my boys once had three poops all hanging out, side by side, not a bother on him. I was convinced part of it was laziness.
