Just a quick question which may or may not be able to be answered. About 2 weeks before Christmas we got Charlotte and Dillon (male and female) who were already together, didn't know at present time until a little later that they weren't both female, just what I get for believing the sales person. OK Charlotte is most certainly pregnant she is bulging out on the sides however the babies are still hard to see moving. I figure that around the middle of the month will be about 60 days give or take a day or so. Now should I be able to see the babies kick before or close to the delivery time?, also she is very skittish when you touch her around her belly area or put your hands under her to feel them. I believe I have felt the babies however I'm not sure if I've felt them move yet. Do the babies grow real quick the last few days? Just want to know about how long I may have, not sure on the exact breeding or time when they copulated.

Your sow could be as far along as 8 weeks pregnant, but its unlikey she was caught right away. How old were the pigs when you got them?
If you can feel the pups then she is at least 5 - 6 weeks pregnant. The last 4 weeks the pups really do grow quite quickly, you will see them moving and can sometimes feel them grinding their teeth.
Do yo have a picture of your sow?
When pregnant they dont often like to be handled and its best to just leave them be, pet them and feed them as usual but its advised not to handle them, as lifting them up can stress the sow and her pups
I would say keep an eye on her over the next few weeks. You could have 3 - 5 weeks to wait, But all sows are different.

Thanks for the reply, we try not to handle her much. It's funny she doesn't seem to show that much when she walks around, but when she is lying down or sitting down she has a small bulge and if or when you touch her belly area she gets very very irritable and won't let you do it. I finished making a 27" x 48" long c & c cage for her, it's made of red coroplast and has red fleece.

I have a himi sow who is at least 8 weeks pregnant but doesnt look it unless you see her laying to one side or you handle her. Some sows only carry 1 or 2 pups which means they wont get as big.
Best of luck

Best of luck Kayleigh Thanks, ya I bought a female in Ft. Worth Tx. back in the 90's when I was in the Reserves and she only had one baby. She was in a large pen which had just a bunch of females and males in it, however her and her baby died since we lived in a trailer her in Wichita Falls Tx. and no airconditioning means hot, hot, hot. I believe at that time the trailer got about 90-100 minimal during that Summer. The kids want to keep at least one and if there is a boy and girl they want one for the papa and the mama, they don't realize that 2 more pigs mean twice as much food and money and since they are kids they won't help take care of them.

I have to say i didnt find 4 or even 6 pigs any more expensive than the 2 (when i had two haha) You adapt your budget, find cheaper food or buy in bulk. The same with bedding and hay. The more you buy the cheaper it is.
