I didn't want to tell anyone till until I was sure but... Just to let you know the little baby I thought I had lost last night suddenly made a recovery and was sat up with mum feeding this morning. I was sure he was dead but then he wriggled. I left him with her thinking he was a goner but then like I say suddenly he got up and started acting almost normal? How can this be  I don't understand this....what on earth is going on? Sadly thought I lost one of Beth's babies last night the only little girl Casey  Dawn |

When Amber gave birth Pip looked like he was dead/dyeing, he was just lyeing still but eventually got up and started acting perfectly normal. He must have had some fight left in him  |

Dawn your emotions must be all over the place at the moment. I'm so pleased for your miracle baby but so sad about your satin baby. I'll keep everything crossed that thats it for the bad stuff and only good news from now on.

Wow Dawn. Your feelings must be totally mixed right now. I think you should rename him Lucky. Sorry you lost one of Beth's babies tho. RIP little Casey.

Oh Dawn...I'm so sorry about little Casy...RIP sweetheart....I just love those satin babies....But absolutely amazing about your other baby...Yes, maybe Lucky would be a good name, or Plucky...he seems to have a lot of fight in him.....I so hope and pray that all will be well for you and your lovely piggies now....Sending more hugs to you, and little gentle ones for all the piggies....Irene...xx

Thanks everyone I am supplementing his feeding as he has some catching up to do after yesterday. You should have seen him tonight he emptied the syringe really quickly fair gluped it down and then wouldn't let it go so that I could fill it again hehe. He then nibbled my quite hard whilst I was refilling it again because I had some left on my hand Dawn |

Today Abbie doesn't look too good. She had slight runs yesterday so I gave her some Kaolin for that. Now her poops are fine but she isn't interested in eating her veggies I tried to syringe feed her but she isn't the easiest piggy to help she keeps wriggling so I had to wrap her in a towel to do it I can't take much more of this Why is this happening? Worse thing is I think all the upset if affecting her ability to produce milk, it only seems to be coming out of one teat. Which is a worry as she has the two babies so I am now feeding them formula too Someone suggested to me it could be worms a few weeks ago that this could be the reason why I have lost a lot of piggies just lately, so I wormed all the piggies in my shed. I hope I am not too late treating Abbie. I didn't want to worm her when I did the others as she was so heavily pregnant, I didn't do Beth either as I didn't know if it was safe. I think this might be why the babies are dying so yesterday I wormed them all, I thought if I don't they die anyway if I do they at least stand a chance. I think this is what saved the little baby that I thought had gone, oh how I wish I have wormed them all at the time but I was too scared to and now look what has happened. It's all my fault Dawn |

No Dawn it isn't your fault. Nature has a way of taking care of it's own regardless of the outcome.
You worming them & them being "better" could be a coincidence but i know you'll look to yourself to blame - please don't.
I personally wouldn't have wormed pregnant sows because i don't know if it's safe.
I don't think Abbie only having one milky teat will affect the babies cos what happens when they have more than 2 to a litter? they still only have 2 teats.
The babies will take it in turns to feed tho' i would supplement them as you are doing just to make sure.

The little Girl Strawberry Shortcake has just been shouting loudly I rushed in think oh my goodness what is going on and when I looked she was stood in the food bowl trying to pick up a big piece of split pea It was so sweet because it looked so heavy in her mouth as it was almost half her size hehe Dawn |

So glad little Strawberry shortcake brought you smiles, Dawn !! She sounds such a sweet little one....Moments like those will keep you strong, so try to focus as much on them as much as you can....This is very hard for you, Dawn....But please, please don't get discouraged!! Everybody on this forum knows just how much you love ALL your piggies, and you really do everything humanly possible for them....I wish I could wave a magic wand, and that all your heartache and worry of the past weeks would go...I can't do that, but I can send lots of love, and lots of prayers that things will begin to ease up, and that your piggies will be ok.......Thinking odf you so much...Love, Irene. He must be ever such a strong boy to hold on like this, he isn't being fed by Abbie she must think it isn't worth it but I do so I will carry on feeding him as long as he will take it and hopefully I can make him strong enough to survive. Sadly little Lucky died last night I set my alarm for 3pm to feed him but he had already gone It's so annoying because he seemed fine last night eating hay and nibbling at the cucumber I put in. Maybe there was just too much damage inside him Today the last little girl Strawberry Shortcake is breathing funny, heavily & noisily. I don't think she is going to make it either On an up note though Beth's remaining two babies seem to be thriving, they were up at the front with Beth this morning at veggie time and tucking it away when I put it in.
