Hello my name is Jill and I am a mother too 3 girls and 5 Guinea pigs. We got our first Guinea pig on July 3rd and have fallen in love with them. We keep adding to our family. We keep our girls and boys seperate but I bought the girls.from a store that had males and females together so I am waiting g to see if my girls are pregnant. We just got them on September 2nd so we have a while to wait. I love learning new things about the pigs and reading everyone's stories. Thanks for the forum!!!

Hi there! So I don't think I posted on this. I actually confused myself thinking I did,but I posted on this topic on a chinchilla forum. So I read through all the pages. So many pretty guinea pig owners! ^-^ I bet a lot of you have the most awesome accents ever. lol. Anyways I live in the US(California to be exact). I have guinea pigs, cats, rats, and chinchillas. lol it's a miniature farm in my room. xP Anyways just stopping by to say hello to all you awesome pretty people. This site has helped me a lot,but the time zone difference kinda stinks when I need an answer pronto lol. But this forum is the best piggy pig forum ever. <3 I feel left out over here in Cali. xD lol Well here's some pictures, sorry they aren't the greatest. :/ This is me This is my bf and I. And here's me and 3 of my piggies me and patches Me and Frodo Me and Gandalf Sorry if I put up too many pictures... Oh scrap I just realized I posted this in the wrong area. If someone could so kindly move it on over to the "You've Introduced Your Guinea Pigs Now Introduce Yourself" topic that'd be great. ^-^

I apologize in advance because I have no idea if I am posting in the right place, I just joined and am trying to figure this out. I do not have a pig yet but we are on a waiting list for 2 skinny pigs. I take it this forum is not for that? I just want info on the best care to prepare for their homecoming. If this forum is just for the beautiful furry pigs, anyone know of a skinny pig forum you can direct me to?

Hi! My name is Chris. Been looking into buying a couple piggies for my 9 year old son. Been doing a bit of research, but still have a lot to learn. Look forward to all I can learn on this sight. Im lucky enough to live only a short distance away from a guinea pig rescue. I'll do some volunteering in exchange for education! ;-) My son too, in order to learn care and cleaning.

My name is Emily. This is me with my two dogs, Sable(right) and Riley(left). Don't have any pictures of me and my piggies. I got out of breeding pigs this year and took on rabbits. But, kept three of my piggies(can't live without them!) I used to have 12 pigs. So I have 3 pigs, 19 rabbits(I breed Holland Lops for show), and 2 dogs. Going to be breeding German Shepherd dogs in the near future! I just love dogs, especially GS's!

I made an intro post, but I'll reply here, too.
I'm a new guinea pig owner. I'm 28, married and adopted 3 guinea pigs. The first one we adopted from my cousin because she was going to have to give it to a shelter and since it was alone, we felt sorry for it, so we looked into finding it a cage mate. We found someone who was local, trying to rehome 2 piggies and we adopted them.
They are Cupcake (standard short hair, 1 1/2), Sonya (We call her Kit Kat - Abyssinian - at least 3 1/2) and Calista (We call her Twix - Abyssinian - 3 on Jan 9th)
We also have 2 dumbo rats, Clover and Violet (1 1/2) and 2 cats, Phoebe (5 months tabby) and Apollo (8 months calico)
I'm kinda of wanting a hamster, too. We used to have a Russian Dwarf named Luna, but she died of old age. My username is in her honor.

You look like lovely in your pic, Cordane :-D luna, what's a dumbo rat? Do they have big ears? Why thank you A dumbo rat essentially has ears where humans have ears (side of the head) rather than like mice and other rats who have them somewhat on top of their head. They look quite goofy but so adorable! (I've only ever seen pictures). www.discover-pet-rats.com/images/dumbo-rat-standing.jpg

Hi my name is shelley I am married with 2 children beth who is 13 and little ian who is 9, we just got 2 cavies about 2 months ago because little ian wanted a pet of his own so we got GeeBear for beth and Nigel for little ian we gt them from pets at home as we didn't know anywhere else to get then from anyway we got them home things were good GeeBear was running around and Nigel was not doing much just sitting there so we was thinking he was a mellow cavy which was good for ian as he could hold him and sit with him on his knee a few days past he still the same by then it was a Saturday morning I notices that he was not eating so we rang the vet and ask can we bring him in after ian's football match they said yes so we went the match and when we got in about an hour later nigel had pasted away so there was heart brake in the house hold we phoned pets at home and they said just come back in and they would give us another 1 so we went back 2 get another because I didn't think it was fair on GeeBear to be left on his own and you have to have a pair so then we got Jevon we had him for about 2 weeks and then I noticed a bald patch on his side so I quickly took him the vets and they said it could be ring worm so we got the stuff and treated him all was going good then a week and a half after that I seen he was just sitting there not doing anything and he didn't eat so I got him straight back the vets they wasn't sure what was up they gave me Oxbow critical care food so I was giving him I had 2 take him back in 2 days but when I got up in the morning I noticed his he was leaning to 1 side so I checked on the net and it said it may b inner ear infection or mites so we went back that day and got them 2 check but everthing was clear so we just didn't know so lizzi the vet said bring him back in 2 day and see if any change there was none he just seemed to get worst he was fallin on 2 his side and couldn't get up it was really upsetting we were backward and forward to lizzi nearly every day in the end we said that it may b better that he was put to sleep the nite be for we were going back the vets he started having these spasms and like he was having a fit we rang the emergency vet to take him in next minute he sat up as if nothing had happen and wanted feeding then he just lay there we stay up with him but a few hours later he past away we were all heart broken the vet thinks he may have had something up with his brain. so we need to get a new play mate for GeeBear we are trying to find a breeder instead of pets at home

Hello(: I'm Trinity, I also run the Youtube Channel, This little piggy went wheek wheek. I've rescued an adorable Guinea Pig that we named Flip Flops. We soon found out she was expecting. Soon after we woke up to three little piglets sleep in our cage. Two girls, and one little boy. We are keeping all of them. And have expanding their cage greatly. I love them so much, and would love to hear from all the fellow piggy loves. (The photo on the left is our little dumplings, Calcifer, Ears, And Merida. In the second photo is Mama Flip Flops giving some precious kisses to all.) --Thanks for your time<3
