My name is Dawn as you know, and I am 36 years old. I am married to Paul, it will be 14 years We have 3 lovely children, Hannah who is 13, Aimee who is 8 and Caitlin who is 18 months. We also have a tabby cat called QT, quite a few tropical fish (not sure of exact numbers) but it's about 15 or so and of course not forgetting the 11 Guinea Pigs, Cocoa 22 months, Tilly 15 months, Lily-Belle 14 months, Meringue (Lily's sister) 14 months, Chardonnay 10 months, Alfie and Charlie 6 months, Beth & Lulu also 6 months, Daisy 3 months & Georgie the latest addition 2 months. We live in Hyde which is near Stockport in Cheshire not far from Manchester, UK. We have lived here in our medium sized semi since Hannah was 4 months old, it is a very nice and quite area with a river not far away and a steam behind the house leading to the canal. I like not having anything behind us except open space it makes it more private I feel very lucky to have found such a nice spot. the wildlife is amazing, I love to feed and watch the birds, squirrels and other animals we get in the garden. My hobbies well they are my pets really I suppose, I don't really have any talents to speak of. For a living I am Registered Childminder which I love. I have been doing it for 12 years now and still like doing it as much as I did when I started. It is so rewarding and challenging every day is different At the moment I mind 3 children two girls and a boy, but sometimes I have as many as 6 kids at different times during a week, which can make our house very busy and also noisy at times as you can imagine. The piggies get lots of attention I can tell you, everyone who comes ends up loving the piggies ;D Well enough about me lets hear about you

My full first name is Laura-Anne and my birthdate is 18th June 1989. My mum is a published artist and illustrator and is into Ancient Egypt, and my dad is a golfer and loves Man Utd.
I currently live next to Belfast International Airport in Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland, and I am expecting to be here until at early 2007. However, I have't lived here all my life!
Ripon, North Yorkshire Yately, Surrey Crumlin, Northern Ireland (over the road from where I am now) Lower Quinton, Stratford-upon-Avon Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire Episkopi, Cyprus Wimbish, Essex Aldershot, Hampshire
And now I'm back in Northern Ireland again. My life is so fun yet scary!
Throughout my lifetime I have had many pets:
Rosie joined the family before I was even born, and she lived until 3rd February 2002. She died at the grand old age of 15 after suffering kidney failure, arthiritis and deafness. I also once had 2 goldfish, Goldie and Geri, who I kept for a number of months before I had to move to Cyprus. They went to one my my close friends and neighbours.
Right now, I have 7 pets. Sheba is a 12 year old Border Collie Cross who I got in March 2002 from a rescue in Cyprus. She had lived with a group of young Cypriots in a flat, and they fed her nothing but human junk food and takeaways. When she went to the rescue the first time she could not stand up as she was so overweight. She was adopted by one family who got her weight down to 38kg before they had to leave Cyprus, which is when I got her. Our other dog, Bosun, is a 15 year old Shih Tzu. He is 80% blind, deaf and artritic, sleeps most of the day but still loves to play. He was given to me by a friend who had got 2 young Jack Russell puppies unexpectedly. These puppies terrorized poor Bo, so my mum took up the offer of taking him in.
I also have 4 piggies, as you well know. Charlie-Parsley is my devastatingly handsome 2 year old Abyssinian boar. I bought him from a pet shop in July 2003 and got him neutered in August 2003. In August 2004 Tuppence-Poppy joined Charlie. She was also bought from a pet store. In June 2005 Lottie-Primrose joined the family after living in a nursery with a rabbit for her entire 2 years of life. She was surrendered to a rescue and I adopted her after she stayed just 2 nights in the rescue. Jasmine-Peaches completed my Guinea Gang in July 2005. She was ina group of inbred piggies who were kept in tiny hutches in large numbers until she was 4 weeks old, when she was rescued. She was on pregnancy watch for 8 weeks before coming home with me.
The last of my pets in Sonic the 1 year old Syrian hamster. I have only held her once, I admit, as she bit me so painfully I am too afraid to handel her again. She bites every single thing which goes near her, but my dad can stroke her back occasionally before she turns round to bite. Aside from this, she is a real sweetie and adores attention. She's shows off at every opportunity and she knows when you talk to her.
My hobbies include reading, writing, computer games, board games and browsing the piggy forums. My favourite colour is...well, I don't know at the moment what my favourite colour is as I;m still trying to figure my mind out, but my top colours are green, yellow and white. My favourite celebrity is Sharon Osbourne as she is so confident and extrovert, totally unlike me.
My phobias include vomiting, creepy crawlies and the dark.
I'm not married...I don't even have a boyfriend yet actually. I did date this one guy in Cyprus, but being only 12 it only lasted 3 months. I do plan on having kids, and I already have names sussed for them. Boy will be Connor or Dylan, and girl will be Savannah or Isabelle. But plenty of time for that I guess.
I can't think of anything else to know about me really. I will add things as I think of them!!

Ok, I don't think I'll be too good at this. I'm not real great at talking about me, but I'll try. Let's see, I'm Kat of course, well actually I'm Kendra but I absolutely despise that name so I rarely use it. I'm 26 and was born August 6, 1979. I live in South Florida. I've lived in Florida my whole life and I love it here. I'm not the fondest of my town (it's too small and we have to go to the coast to find the stuff I need for my pets) but the state I love. And I suppose my town is in a great location. It's right on Lake Okeechobee and if you drive 2 hours in any direction except north you run into the beach and I absolutely LOVE the beach! I live with my mom, dad, my 7 year old nephew, and 29 animals. I refuse to live by myself. If I did, I'd be a paranoid wreck who never slept. I am engaged to a wonderful man named Thomas who I absolutely adore. He's 24 and he's the only guy I've ever met who doesn't mind living with a ton of creatures. In fact he has a nice sized group of his own. When we get married, and our 2 groups are joined, we may qualify as a zoo. I have no children of my own but I have helped raise my nephew since his birth. My brother and his exwife are....well let's just face it, they are useless human beings. They didn't want him so they dumped him on my parents and me. His mother got pregnant when she was 14 to try to keep my brother from breaking up with her and when it failed, she didn't want the kid anymore and my brother never did. They won't let my parents legally adopt him because they can use him as a tool to manipulate my parents and each other. We don't know where his mother actually is anymore. She moved out of state when Brat was 2 and only calls once in a blue moon, usually when her mother or her new husband make her. She still hasn't called to make sure the hurricane didn't kill her only son. Oops! I suppose I've gone off into a rant now, I'm sorry! Anyway! I have 26 creatures at the moment (2 dogs, 15, cavies, 2 hamsters, 2 Siamese Fighting Fish, 1 dove, 1 cat, and 3 triops). I'd go through a life list but to be honest, I'd be typing for a week and still have only a very small portion covered. As a small child, I had several dogs, cats, fish, turtles, various invertebrates, birds, lizards, small snakes, frogs, toads, skinks, and Lord knows what else. At about the age of 11 I got my first pair of white mice and after that began the rodent invasion. Since then I have added rats, mice, hamsters, cavies, newts, and even a vole to the previous list. From the time I was 12 on until I graduated high school I never had under 50 animals at a time. My world has always revolved around animals. Since the group usually consisted of 2 or 3 dogs, a couple cats, and various shortlived creatures (hammies, mice, fish, small reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates) I went through an awful lot. After high school I stopped getting so many creatures (probably mostly because I stopped encountering so many people who saw me as an unwanted pet or foundling wild creature dumping ground). For a while I had no more than 3 dogs, 9 cats (I started with one, Lassie's cat, Newsie, then my 2 big dogs found 4 baby kittens whose mother had abandoned them next to the dog pen and I took in and weaned and raised, then Newsie who was pregnant at that time had 4 kittens), and a few fish. Then after we found them new homes we ended up with more strays who needed homes and love and we couldn't let them starve. Eventually we got down to just Orion in the last few years. A few years ago, I got very into Siamese Fighting fish. I had over 30, at 30 I stopped counting. I tried breeding them and got very close to succeeding my last spawn. The lone surviving fry lived for 2 months before a water change killed him. That wasn't too bad for only my 3rd attempt. I was told it often takes new breeders at least 5 to even get the fries passed the first week. I knew all my fish by name and they all knew their names and were always so happy to see me. I loved being surrounded by such beauty all the time. But Then it got to the point where during tank cleaning day once a week I had to get up at 6 am and clean tanks all day until 9 pm or later in the evenings. I even ate sandwiches while cleaning on those days. I finally decided I couldn't handle it anymore and as they died I didn't replace them and I didn't add any new ones. The last of that group died this year at the age of about 7 years. After the fish numbers got down I wanted a hamster because I hadn't had any rodents in years. I got Kona and fell madly in love with him. Since him, I have had 1 or 2 hamsters consistantly excluding a couple of months after getting Solomon, the first of the current piggy group. I actually was going to get a new hammy after losing Pierre but I thought I MIGHT want a piggy instead. I mentioned it to my boyfriend and he talked me into it. That pretty much brings us to now I guess. I like getting to remind my boyfriend the piggy thing is all his fault whenever he teases me about having so many. Of course, I warned him I was contagious and he didn't believe me. I told him that whatever creature I get excited about, anyone who's around me on a regular basis always ends up with whatever creature I'm excited about. Well, now he has 5 beloved piggies of his own (and a couple Siamese Fighting Fish that I apparently was still contagious with from before). Well, I suppose you have now discovered while I don't talk about me too well, I can talk about my creatures forever.... Hobbies? Who has time for hobbies? I have piggies who demand my very soul, let alone my time! Ok, I suppose I have a few. I write, poems and short stories mostly, but I have been working on a novel I'm never going to finish. This is at least the 10th time I've started all over. I draw sometimes and I sculpt. I've recently learned how to crochet and I love making clothes for my piggies. I like to color. I probably have more coloring books than any small child you know. I like to read, of course. I can half play the keyboard and as soon as I move somewhere where I can set it up again, I think I might start learning again. May very favorite thing to do is act. I love the stage. It's one of the few places in the world I feel completely comfortable. I collect retro toys and their remakes (Care Bears and My Little Ponies are my favorites. I started collecting ponies when I was like 3 years old and Care Bears at around 6 I think.). I also collect anime stuff and autographs. And I have a decent sized collection of famous people dolls. I also collect anything wolf, dog, cavy, or fairy tale (dragons, unicorns, fairies, wizards, etc.). I collect TY Beanie Babies. Ok that's enough looking around at all the stuff I collect. I collect just about anything I find neat or cute and lets just leave it at that. I support quite a few charities, most animal welfare or environmental. I sponsor 2 children, Elizabeth in Columbia and Edison in the Phillippines. I sponsor a dog named John Thomas at North Shore Animal League. Last year I sponsored a dog named Gracie and a cat named Cheeze at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and a leafy sea dragon at the Tampa Sea Aquarium. I am also a Christian and active at the local Assemblies Of God Church. Ok, that's about it I guess and whether it is or not I have to go. Thanks to my nephew's new after the hurricane destroyed his school schedule, I now have to go get him ready to leave. Later! -kkat

Wow, here goes my life.... I was born and raised in Toronto suburbs and went to school there got all my education. In 1986 I moved to the city where I now reside outside of that is Barrie, Ontario which is about 60 miles north of Toronto. It is not a huge city, about 60,000 but it has everything I like. Small town attitudes and it has a strong rural community. I am one of 3 children. I have two brothers, my oldest brother Ron passed away a couple of years ago to COPD which is a chronic breathing disorder. Miss him a lot.. My other brother Dennis resides just outside of Toronto and with his wife Kathy, have two adorable daughters which their Auntie Linda loves to spoil at every opportunity. When I first moved to Barrie I brought with me my two cats, Bert & Ernie and I got my first German Shepherd Max....We have never really looked back. I started raising some bunnies and then piggies and it soon became a problem for me to be inside town as their were bylaws etc. so when my best friend decided she wanted to move to the country we decided to sell both our homes in town and buy a place in the country. We had been looking for quite a while and finally found this place, which satisfies both our needs. I wanted it for the large workshop where I could keep all my critters and she loved the property as she is an avid gardener. We have been here now almost 8 years and although a lot of work to keep it nice, I love it here.... I presently have one large german shepherd, Jerry Lee and 10 cats - Mac, Willie, Dakota,Willow,Whippee,Tabitha, Samantha,Sabrina, Fletcher and last but not least Gizmo. We also have two stray cats that one could say reside here-- we have named them Freddie and Ghostly... At last count I had 10 bunnies, and 22 piggies. I mainly have the long hairs (Silkies, Peruvians) and newly into the curly coats - texels and boucles.... I find them very interesting and great personalities. I have two budgies, 1 cockateil, 1 rooster and 4 hens.... As you can see we don't go away much, its just too difficult to find anyone who would mind this motly crew. Oh, I forgot to mention that when I was 18 I lived in England for two years.... I was a Beatle fanatic and decided I wanted to go and I stayed and worked just outside of London for the two years. I went back a few years later for a holiday but have not been back since. Bought a house, now I can't afford to travel.... Anyways, I hope that has given you some insight to my life....Hope I have not bored you to tears.... Linda

Hi everyone. I'm Lila.. I've been married since 2002. I have one child (daughter). I'm an Aries and my favorite colors are pink and lavender. Pets include: 1 sow 1 boar 1 chin 7 hamsters 100+ fish Pet Wishlist: 2 Skinny pigs 1 Ebony Chinchilla 4 Degus 2 ferrets Hobbies: Astrology Tarot Crystals Knitting Sewing Weaving Making bracelets. Anything about paranormal studies or hauntings. Anything about the supernatural. Reading up on past life regression. Eating crunchy things History Reading anything about small & furry animals Web Design Going to zoo's Going to the aquarium Bookstores Watching comedies Playing with my pets Going to pet shops to whistle along with the birdies. *hehe* Teasing my daughter when she tries to crack cheesey jokes. Poking fun at my husband when he tries to sound knowledgable about something he knows NOTHING about. Other cavy sites I visit: Guinea Pigs World Cavy Cages Guinea Pigs Unlimited Pigloo I think I'll be coming here from now on, though. I really like the set up here and I like how everyone treats one another. I'm more of a dog person than a cat person.. but I'm more of a small-n-furry person than I am a dog person. I love every creamy soup there is, but if you put soup on one side of me and sushi on the other.. I'll dive head first into the sushi. I'd ignore them both for a GOOD platter of QUALITY nachos, though. *hehe* My favorite ice cream is Java Chocolate Chunk and if it finds it's way into my freezer, it won't be there longer than 2 shakes of a lusty boar's backside. My favorite fruits are mango and pineapple. I like cheese and sliced boiled eggs in my salads. I'll watch a documentary on anything as long as it's something that's affected the world in some way... my favorite channels on tv are the discovery channel, the history channel, and yes... the channel with all of the unsolved murder/mysteries shows. I don't drink and I'm slowly cutting back on my smoking. I now officially smoke ONE cigarette every couple of days when the craving drives me nuts. Hopefully by the end of the year I won't be smoking at all. I don't smoke around my pets, don't worry... I hate the smell cigarettes leave behind, so if and when i do smoke, it's outside on the patio. I've always wanted to swim with dolphins or manatees. Well.. not swim.. I'd just settle for sitting in a shallow pool of water and stroke them as they swam by. *hahahaha* I think that's about it. Nice getting to know you all

You know.. I have tons of hobbies, but I never stick with one thing too long... hahahaha... I have tons of art projects that are half done. I'd love to swim with dolphins and manatees... they just look so peaceful. The link to the pigloo site is www.pigloo.netIt's a pretty nice site.. but it's very slow. I still thing this site's better, though. ;D I've quit smoking once for 3 years before... I just picked it back up last year and I really don't know how or why. It's a filthy habit and I wish the cravings weren't so strong. Most of the time I can handle it.. but when I'm watching a movie or something and it has smokers in it.. gosh, it kills me. *LOL* It took me a while just to get to the one cigarette every few days.. but I'm happy I'm controlling my habit a bit better. Thanks for the words of encouragement

Tried to join the forum on pigloo, kept saying my siggy was too long Then it said I'd tried too many times, so try later I am guessing that would put most people off. Phew why do some forums make it so hard to join up?

Wow, what an interesting group we have here! I guess I'm the Old Lady here, I'm 46. (This proves that even we middle aged woman are fun enough to love piggies!) I've been married to my husband Sandy since 1990. I have two kids, Joe,13, and Julie,11. I work as an instructional assistant for three sprecial needs kids. They are in full inclusion in our middle school. I help keep them focused, make sure they behave appropriately, modify work, and of course, teach them! I also work as an artist. I work mostly in marker and in pencil. I specialize in portraits of people, pets, and places. Next year I hope to launch a line of guinea pig greeting cards! I have four pigs ~ Porky, who is four and a half and simply the sweetest pig ever! Petunia is my "wild" girl. She is very kind, but always concerned with her next meal. Corkster, Petunia's daughter, is absolutely spoiled rotten. And Pippin, my little rescue pig, is nearly as sweet as Porky. I also have two little rescued dogs from Puerto Rico. Pepper is beagle/chihuahua, and Jack is a terrier/spaniel mix. I Love taking them for long walks. I live on the ocean, so we take walks on the beach, in the local park, and the local woods. They are small but very 'doggy" and love to chase squirrels and chipmunks! I have two cats. Lyle is going on 16, and is very temperamental. oreo is three and goofy. Oh, and then there's Snowy the parakeet, who is always cheerful! Besides art and dog walking, I love to read and do things with the family. I also volunteer at the local animal shelter one day a week and run an after school community service group for kids at my school. Of course, I love my computer, too!

Well hear goes
My name is Vickie and I am a general nurse, but at the moment am working in mental health. I am married and have been for 5 years, I am 35 years old, have no children except my animals who my hubby tells me I treat like babies, (spoilt rotten, anything they want they get)
I run a rescue from my semi in Birmingham, I have rescued for about 3 years now, the intake of pigs has never gone down but then it has never gone up either. I still continue to be surprised and shocked by other people that surrender their animals to me. Although I get such a kick at watching them go to their forever homes. In the rescue I have 29 pigs, and in a seperate shed I have 6 of my own, these included Hudson and Tallant who are both pregnant and I plan to keep them and babies
I also have in my household 2 cats Cyclops and Throwback 1 arab horse Suki 1 exmoor pony Grub 4 mice Willow, Anya, Drew and Thomas. (All girls) 1 hamster Angelus Koi pond with 10 fish Tank with 9 Blackmoors and a loach 2 Terripins Gertie and Boris (free range) 2 Aquatic frogs 2 Canaries
I am know in my area as the animal woman I dont think most people even know my name Thats all I can tell you at the moment I think

I would have a small holding, so I had a bit of land. with out buildings. Then I could turn it into a proper rescue, as well as having my pets of course, only I probably wouldnt rehome any of the rescues lol. I get too attached. Then I would have a field where I could do my 'piggy gardening' to grow them all fresh veggies. lol. Like you say Dawn we can dream

You lot are really interesting, you make me seem so boring! Ok; me, my name is Clare and I live in the South East of England, East Sussex near the Kent border to be precise. I am not married as it is not a thing I want to rush into at my age. I have 17 cavies and I also breed and show Cashmere Lop rabbits. I may have children when I am older; plenty of time to think about that! I am at present looking for a job, having had time away from things as my Nan broke her ankle and I had to help look after her. My hobbies include writing, talking, forum surfing, shopping and showing my rabbits and cavies. I have nothing else interesting to say about me! I haven't visited many places around the world (only France and Germany!) and nothing really exciting has happened yet, so I'd shut up now and store boring you! CLare

Hi my name is lisa, i am 28 years old not married but have two beautiful children from a past relationship, 1 boy named jordan who is 9 and 1 daughter chelsea 7. I have a partner that i have been with for the last 4 years he isnt crazy about animals but he has to accept the mad house that i live in lol. We have 34 guinea pigs, 1 cat named magic, 1 rat named charlie, 3 budgies that keep getting called different names every week, 3 fish and did have a newt but sadly he passed away today. I am guinea pig crazy and i think its down to the fact that they were one animal i was never allowed when i was younger.I love to read especially horror books and true stories, i like swimming and socialising with my friends. I adore each and everyone of my animals. I am not working at present but am looking for a job. I have a diploma in anatomy physiology and massage, have trained as a beauty therapist, and have completed several courses like reflexology, aromatherapy, web design sociology pottery etc, all to keep my brain alive whilst bringing up the children. I have two brothers one older and one younger. My family are the whole of my world. Anyway i think that i have rambled on quite enough now so thats me ! lisa

Hi everyone, my name is Jo-anne and I live in a semi-rural area of West Yorkshire. I have 1 son who is 18 (who I had when I was young and stupid who then followed in my footsteps and made me a Grandma 2 years ago . I am married to Gee (Graham) and we have 2 daughters who are 9 and 5. I work part-time for a doctors surgery as an admin assistant and I'm also in the first year of a degree in English Lit and Lang. My hobbies are my guinea pigs, gardening, reading and cross stitch. Both my girls go to dancing so I'm also chief taxi driver. My cat Tabitha went to live with my son when he got his flat as my eldest daughter has developed an allergy to cats. We currently have 2 outdoor guinea pigs which belong to the girls -Buffy and Willow and I have Bertie who is a rex and Geri who is a sheltie who live in the living room. We also have a large pond full of fish and frogs. Only the Koi have names they are Spike and Druisilla. I perhaps should have added that I'm a big Buffy the Vampire Slayer although our Buffy is 'Buffy the Carrot slayer' ;D I can't think of anything else hope I haven't bored anyone!
