Well Birch's eye is so much better. The vet had a look at him last night and was very surprised at how much better it was. The look on his face was great! He said to carry on with the drops and painkillers and to take him back on Saturday. The only trouble is, he keeps charging me £15 just to look and tell me it is better!

You are joking that's vets for you makes you wonder if that's not all he wants to see him back for so he can get more money out of you I am so glad Birch's eye is so much better though do you have any recent pics would love to see the progress he has made Dawn

I will take some tonight. Wish I had taken some on Monday when the vet put the iodine drops in. The white of his eye was red, then the black pupil and then the white ulcer went yellow, he looked very evil! Looked like a fake eye. Now it is just very slightly pale with the protective eyelid doing its job. Im so pleased with him, just upset at what the vet said on Monday. Now just trying to decide whether to take him back on Saturday like he said because he is just going to charge me £15 just for looking at him again. Any suggestions anyone?

Well do you think you need to take him back? If you don't think he needs to go back then I would say don't go back. I personnally wouldn't go back if his eye seems to be on the mend but that's just my opinion you need to do what you think is right for Birch Dawn

Hiya, Happy New Year to you all. Just to let you know, Birch has made a full recovery after giving him eyedrops for over a week and also some painkillers. His eye is now beautiful and shiny. Grrr to the vet who said he would have to be put down!

Oh that's wonderful news just goes to show vets don't know everything. Just imagine if you had listened to them, doesn't bear thinking about does it?

Thanks ever so much Irene and Dawn. No it does not bare thinking about, it really upsets me. I must try to find another vet who is more sympathetic to smaller animals needs!
