Yes piggies can become depressed that is why I didn't take Lily out from the main pen when she was ill. If the vet thinks it is ok then I would put her back in with her friends. I know that some breeders in germany don't feed dry food at all just plenty of hay nad veggies so I don't think it will do her that much harm but she weont put on as much weight because it's the dry food that can be fattening and this is usually cut down if a piggy is overweight. I am glad she seems to be gaining now though so keep up the good work your syringing must be doing her some good Niki Dawn

I've now got a jug of hot water next to me which i stick the syringe into to warm up the food - is she being spoilt? Niki x

Well yes but she diserves to be spoilt hey? Dawn LOL She does Dawn. Well disaster today, i've been really ill today & only managed to feed her once, praying she'd eat her self - & she hasn't & she's lost almost 40g from yesterday Then someone on another forum said that flu/colds can be passed onto piggies if you're in close contact, which i am & i am full of some bug - i really don't know which way to turn anymore I'm going to feed her again now & see how she goes, & i'm going to introduce Maddie & Albie to her in the house tomorrow & see if she perks up any - everything crossed it works or i'll be in a padded cell somewhere Niki x

Awww... I am so sorry to hear this, just keep trying Niki, I know its hard but dont give up on her Dawn I won't dawn. The good news is she munched her veg as soon as i put it in last night & is pooping & peeing normally now (huge weight off my mind). Albie & Maddie are in with her this morning - whatever is/was wrong with her can't be contagiouse because they've both put on weight - Albie is now 2lb 7oz & Maddie is 2lb 3oz. It's a nice mild day today, i'm going to clean their hutch, put them all in together & carry on monitoring her daily in the hope that back in her own environment with her friends she will eat dry food & start to put weight on & keep it on. Niki x

Hmmmm, piggie's not eating is never a good thing. If she still isn't eating, have you changed her food recently?
