Over the past week or so we have noticed that Timmy hasn't been his usual self. He has been siting in one place a lot and not coming forward for his veggies and generally looking down in the dumps. He smelt a little too He had lost a few ounces but then when we weighed him yesterday he has lost over half a pound more in weight. He was 2lb 5oz but is now 1lb 13oz. He has now stopped eating and pooping so we took him to the vet. She said that he would have to have an ultrasound and blood and urine test to see what it could be. She thinks it could be maybe his kidneys but she can't be sure until they do tests. We take him down tonight and he will stay there until tomorrow evening. I do hope they can find out whet is wrong and start to treat him, Hannah will be devastated if we loose him as he is her piggy. He is normally such a lively, lovely, cuddly piggy Dawn

Oh Dawn I am really crossing everything for Timmy, he is such a lovely boar.
I fear the vet may be right and it may be his kidneys, but maybe its an infection and he will pull up again, I really hope so
Love Heather

Yes but it's not looking good, the vet rang and said they didn't find anything on the ultrasound, they put an endoscope into his mouth to check his teeth they were fine. They were unable to get a blood sample. They have advised me to worm him and then referred him to an exotic specialist in Walley Range because they couldn't do any more for him. However tonight he isn't looking good at all I don't honestly think he will make it through the night, he has stopped eating now and I haven't seen any poops. I think we are going to loose him Dawn

Oh no... it seems it is so often bad news if they have to visit the vets. I am sure you will give him lots of cuddles and make him as comfortable as possible. Sending hugs to you both.

I hope he's still with you this morning Dawn. If so, and he isn't eating still, you really need to handfeed him (if you aren't already). Tuppence stopped eating, drinking and pooping and wasn't all that far from death - the vet was totally convinced she would be gone soon - and handfeeding is what kept her digestion going and ultimately gave her enough strength to fight the pneumonia/infection/heart prob. I started with a pellet mash (pellets, water and a few drops orange juice for Vit C) and then moved onto Critical Care after the first couple feedings.
Do update us as soon as you can! We are all thinking of you, Han and Timmy.

I had been hand feeding him Laura with Science Recovery, I just knew he wouldn't make it though as last night because he was all wet underneath which is a sign of kidney failure we are going to miss him so much.
