When i received Warwick on 15th October he was ill... i thought it was a ear infection because of his tilted head... the vet diagnosed a nerves system problem (for the life of me, i cant remember the exact words) and he was put on medication for two weeks... its now 11th December, almost 2 months on and although Warwick seems happy in himself, his neck is still very crooked... is it because he is still ill? has irreparable damage been caused? or has he had some form of stroke/ heart attack back in October which has left him lopsided? i did phone the vet, who said put him down, but he isn't ill like he was... he is very happy, always talking to me, pop-corning at everything, he hasn't sneezed or anything... can anyone hazard a guess? I'm not overly worried, if i am honest, if he was going to pass away I'm sure he would have back in October, he was very very poorly then. I just don't understand why he is still leaning towards one side?

I have had a few rabbits with head tilt and never known the reason but it can be down to parasites so needs panacur to kill them but sometimes the damage has been done , ear infection and if caught early enough can right itself , trauma to the head and the damage is permanent . There is no need to put a healthy animal to sleep because they have a head tilt they can cope no problem and have a good quality of life but i wouldn't hesitate in getting them PTS if they have no quality of life !

your welcome xx . He is in a good home with you so should have a good enough life with his disability ,they just need a little bit more TLC . If the time comes that he has no quality of life i know you will do the right thing . I had one rabbit who lived a good few years and the other started taking fits and needed PTS
