Sow Fertility
Does anyone know if fertility in sow wanes as they get older?
Maddie is approx 5 now & i'm wanting to bond her with Toddie, who was neutered on 13th Feb. The waiting time varies from vet to vet, i was told 6wks yet a friend was told by hers 2wks & at 3wks post op it would be most likely impossible for a boar to get a sow pregnant.
I obviously don't want Maddie getting pregnant & esp at her age but 6wks does seem an awfully long time. If fertility does wane then surely they could be (hopefully) bonded earlier, am thinking this wkend (3 wks post-op) or next wkend.
How long has anyone waited post-neuter to bond?

I would tend to air on the side of caution. I know the vet said to us after we had our bunny done 4 weeks. So I personally would wait at least 4 weeks just to be on the safe side Niki
