Just to say Percy had crackly breathing last night, for the 1st time, through his nose. I thought he had something stuck so i checked him thoroughly but nothing. I got out Peter Gurney's piggy potions book and put a dab of inhalent oil on his nose and it solved the problem instantly! I couldn't believe it was that effective. Poor Percy didn't enjoy it much, he spent ages rubbing his nose and didn't fancy his food much because that was all he could smell but.. happy breathing. I know i need to keep an eye on his health in case the underlying problem remains but am happy with him so far. I don't know what i'd do without that book and this forum!

Wow! I wish I had checked that book (I bought it on someone on this forum's advice - I'd say it was you!!!) last week - Xanxan had a really crackly chest but as soon as I heard it I picked up the phone and made a vet appointment! Xander didn't mind going to see Eamonn though - Eamonn is the only one who can control Xander - he only has to tell him to quiet down and he does. I think he might have a little man-crush on him Also, is that oil Olbas or something like that or is there a specific on you're meant to use?

Hi, I have just joined and will introduce myself and my babies a little later. Right now I am worried about Lacey. She was fine this morning, then after she'd eaten breakfast (grass) I heard this funny noise - didn't take much notice at first, but it kept going.
She has started to rattle when she breathes. I think it's a chesty thing, but sometimes sounds like breathing through a snotty nose.
She has no other symptoms of URI. They are now out in the run on the grass and she is eating like a trooper and trotting around the run as usual.
I'm about to go to the chemist to try the Vicks solution - I'm hoping you mean the Vicks Vapour Rub that humans use??
I've also read that Sudafed is ok?
Any other ideas what it might be. It has just happened. Lacey is about 6 months old. Both Lacey and Coco were adopted from a friends litter. They have recently spent time with a baby daddy but not sure yet if it "worked".
I love my baby and would hate to lose her.
