Apparently one of Diva's babies bit too hard on one of her teats and it started to bleed. She didn't let the babies feed. I've managed to stop the bleeding and put on a syptic powder.
I have separated Diva from the babies for tonight (the babies are with their older sister JJ). And I would like to get them back together as soon as possible.
I don't know what to do, I'm scared if I put her back with them, it may open up and start bleeding again.
An urgent response is needed. Thanks.

Oh no, how awful for you. I would suggest that if Diva only has two babies that you can keep them with her. She will let them feed from her other teat whilst the other teat heals. They're amazing little creatures and she will know what's best for her. Also, it will heal much faster than you think, so you won't need to remove the babies from her - that will probably stress her more than a sore teat would. If she has lots of babies, you could try giving them a helping hand with some liquid food and a dropping pipette (I added a thread on this today as I have an orphan I'm feeding). The main thing to do is not panic and try to keep babies with Mum. Give her celery for its high water content if she doesn't seem to be drinking much - you don't want her milk to dry up if it's not being stimulated by suckling babies. Best of luck, Chelley xx

HOw old are the babies now, you could try giving them a dish with brown bread soaked in evaporated milk to supliment them. That way they wont be as demanding from mum

Thank you so much for the help! I would actually try helping to feed them, but it's very late here in Hawaii so all the stores are closed so I can't go out to buy anything. But I do have evaporated milk. There are four of them, and I've actually let them feed one by one, making sure the feed on only the good teat. About how long do you think it will take for the other one to be healed enough to be used?

I use just bread soaked with plain milk here and they eat it just fine. I give this to my pregnant mums before giving birth and to the babies w/ mum daily for 2 weeks after birth. Helps mum keep production of milk up and gives babies a boost. But I would keep the babies in with mum, they are too young to be away from mum right now. She should heal up just fine and the babies might actually help it heal better, you'd be surprised. Just keep an eye on her and as it sounds like you are.

Thanks everyone for your fast and speedy help! I actually woke up every two hours to put two of them at a time with Diva to let them feed. A little while later I placed them all with her for the rest of the night and got a few hours of sleep. The next morning I checked her over and there was no sign of the injury. I'm glad everything turned out okay and I'm very thankful for all of your help!

I'm glad to hear that all is well. I know that when I breast fed my kids and I bled, they told me to keep feeding and it would heal. So I figure that is the same for our piggies. I feel for her since I know how much it hurts to get bit there, LOL!

Hey! I just thought I'd add something I got in a Gorgeous Guineas newsletter this week, I'm sure they won't mind me quoting them: " Q. A rescue sow has sore nipples from feeding a very large litter that was also the result of post partum mating; should I buy the Human equivalent or is there something I can get for guinea pigs that won't harm the pups? Sore nipples can be helped with either Super Souffle Cream or Perfect Paws Ointment. Both contain Calendula Oil which is one of our "must-have" ingredients to help all sorts of skin problems. Human products often contain Mineral Oil (such as Paraffin / Petrolatum) which can sit on the skin and block pores. This is because their molecules are bigger than those of vegetable oils which can be absorbed by the skin to help the healing process. " Both these products are available at Gorgeous Guineas, and they also have a page of products that are suitable for pregnant girlies: link
