tricksy is a 3 and a bit week old female. her mum has in the last few days started weening her and making her do things by herself. tricksy is full of energy, eating and drinking fine and i can find many of her small poos around in the cage. however the last two days i have seen a white powder crust layer on tricksys bum area, only the top of the Y part though. i soaked and washed it off with a wet cotton bud just fine yesterday. but its coming back today. any idea what it is? my guess is dry pee, and its staying there because mum isnt cleaning tricksy up any more?

I really do not know for sure but I would imagine that it is calcium deposits in the urine that have dried around the area...I would just keep an eye on it and see if it continues. Sorry I can't be of more help

I've never seen anything like this. Is it still there?

I've seen the crusties. I just take it as the calcium in the urine and the babies are just getting used to cleaning themselves up. I just clean it off with a baby wipe if I want or just leave it. I wouldn't be too alarmed by it.

it has gone now. took about two weeks, but it was less accumulating each time i cleaned it off. i cleaned it off with a warm water soaked cotton ball. im putting it down to change in diet and having to clean herself up too.

Hello Alie, Try to examine her when she wees if she is making any cry sounds coz then it can be related to urinary infection...My girl is suffering and took her to exotic pet vet. Now on medications...: )
