My first guinea pig was a boy and his testicles dropped soon after I got him. I don't know when, but he had them while he was alive and he died as a baby (he had a neurological infection that might have been there before he was born. At least I think that's what they said, it was very confusing, and they weren't even sure). The boy I have now, I got him in early February. He was a baby then and is still small but he has gained weight. He's only slightly smaller than Ruby who is probably about 2 years old. He shows no signs of testicles (besides trying to mate with spayed Ruby). Should I be worried? They said he was a boy and his genitals look like a baby boy guinea pig's. I'll try to get pictures if you would like, but I'd have to get a different camera to borrow because one of mine broke and the other was only $20 (so you can imagine the quality...) and it doesn't turn on all the time.

The easiest way to make sure your pig is really a boy is to press just above the genital area. If he's a boy then his penis will pop out. If he doesn't seem to have large testicles, that might not be a problem. They might just not be as pronounced as you expect them to be. Looking at my boys, some of them you can tell with just a glance at their bums that they're boys but some need a second look, so I wouldn't be too worried.

Thanks. But is it okay if I can't see anything, even with a second look?

Males genitals will develop differently. As Orlaith has said, if you hold your piggie and tilt him slightly, press just above his genital area and his penis should pop out. It will be very obvious. If in doubt you can post a pigture up and we could help you out.

am i right by saying that she could also feel in the are and might be able to feel them "inside"? like the others say they come in all sizes, If he is really a boy i dont think "small" testicles would be a problem.

You would be able to feel them yes, But the best way is to apply pressure to his genital area. Here are a couple of pigtures of my younger boars genitals, as you can see its very obvious they are male. This may help you out. Godric - 7 months old. Houdini - 3 1/2 months old. Hope this helps.
