I did write on the site a few weeks back as Sanchez wasnt eating his nuggets.... At that time, he was still eating his cucumber and other veg and drinking.
I noticed the other morning that he hadnt touched his nuggets.... and he was doing a funny thing with this head, it was as if he'd got something trapped in his teeth or down his throat.
We tried him with cucumber, but he was having trouble eating it and bits were falling everywhere... so we immediately took him to the vet.
She gave him a full look over (my husband said) and said that his front teeth were fine, that she couldnt 'get to' his back teeth. That he had nothing trapped in his mouth or throat from what she could see. That he weighed 1kilo (I think thats what he said) and from she could tell - she couldnt 'see' anything that was wrong with him.
She gave him an injection of anti-bios (and we have some to give him twice a day for 5 days) and a pain killer. We brought him home and pretty much let him chill. He did eat some cucumber, but again didnt appear to have touched his nuggets.
Last night - he didnt go near his nuggets or his water and now he's not really eating any of his veg.. I'm really worried.
This morning, I gave him his medicine and I also syringed some water into him.
He's not right.. I can tell.
Sanchez has always been a fairly laid back fellow, he immediately 'flat pigs' on my lap when I get out to give him a cuddle... but this morning he just seemed so lethargic and he couldnt even take the cucumber out of my hand. : (
I got Sanchez when he was 4 months old and he'll now be around 3 years and 8 months old.
We've not changed his food/drink/environment - everything is the same.
He doesnt seem to be pooping or weeing as much - I guess thats because his intake has decreased.
He doesnt appear to be in 'pain' and he has stopped the head thingy (as if something was stuck in his teeth/throat).
He does look different - his eyes are not bright and a little crusty
and he looks 'sad'..if you know what I mean?
Please help.... any suggestions?
I think we are going to syringe feed him now - with his nuggets mashed up with water and vitC... should we do anything else?
Should I take him back to the vet and make any 'suggestions' as to what may be wrong with him?
many thanks in advance
A very very very worried Josie Jo xx
