Hi I am new on here and I am trying to get two of my piggies to mate. Wibur is around 3 years old and seems very up for the idea. His lady friend pumpkin is around 12 weeks and although she enjoys time in his company she tends to pee in his face. Am I headed in the right direction here as am just sitting back to let nature take its course

You should never breed a female until she is at least 6-8 months old. It can cause serious health issues to your female & the babies. Although there's different opinions on when exactly to mate them, but everyone says 6,7,or 8 months. I wouldn't want you to lose your piggy,so I hope this helped.

Sows should never be bred unless they are of appropriate age, weight, health, and maturity. Although sows come into season very early in life, I wouldn't advise breeding her until approximately 6 months. At 12 weeks, I wouldn't expect her to do well with a pregnancy or be mature enough to be a good mom.

Are any of your other piggies older? Maybe you can try breeding one of them and wait for Pumpkin to be completely ready to breed.

Welcome.
Its not advised to breed sows this young. You should ideally do all research prior to pairing pigs. So you are in the right place!!
When breeding you usually pair the pigs up for between 6-8 weeks then seperate. They are pregnant for 10weeks or so, so its a fairly long wait for such a small animal.
Are you comfortable sexing young pigs? Is this your first breeding?
Do you have a weight on your sow and what breed is she? Also can i ask where you got advice to breed at 12weeks?
If you havent paired them yet...thats great. Please dont, not until your sow is at least 6 months old (maybe older) and a sufficient weight.
Any and all questions please ask away

Hi I was told that they can be bred from about 12 weeks and looked it up online I wil seperAte straight away as you are quite right and I do not want to lose her. I think there is slim possibility of her being pregnant anyhow as like I said she just kept weeping on him. This will be my first litter of piggies but I am comfortable sexing was told the younger the better as if they haven't had their first litter by a year then they shouldn't be bred at all this true

The best ages to breed sows varies on the individual sow. Earliest i would say breed is 6months. As for breeding over a year aslong as the sow is healthy its fine. The whole bones fusing togeather is nonsense. Just ensure they are healthy and not overweight.
With regards to sexing pigs it gets more and more obvious as they get older. Not younger the better. Very strange info you have received.
But no worries ask as many questions as you like. We are all here to help

I mean the younger the better for breeding is what I was told I have looked online for a lot of the info and more than one site says about the pelvis fusing I am now quite confused ...

The pelvic bones in a sow will not EVER fuse togeather, they merely become less flexible, this is due to a decrease in the amount of the hormone oxytocin. Its a very old myth. Its best to breed a sow from 6 months if not older, i know a few breeders who wont pair a sow until shes at least 8 - 14 months of age.
So please feel re assured that your sows pelvis will NOT fuse togeather.
