Thanks everyone my nerves are shattered i think i'll have bladder stones soon lol but i know he is in good hands at the vets as they are very experienced in small exotic mammals.
Can anyone give me any tips on after surgery care ie. what to use for bedding etc...

Depending on the size of the wound. I would use flat towels just now, with paper beneath it. change it daily. that way you can monitor the wound and any possible infection.

What kind of paper?? Junior has an obsession with trying to eat paper.

Just flat newspaper to absorb the urine. If you dont want to use paper you could use puppy pads and such to absorb the urine.

Thanks puppy pads maybe better, you cant have any paper around when Junior is running around the living room floor, once he chewed all my boyfriends MOT certificate and his dury duty letter lol boyfriend was not amused

Oh yeah it gives them loads of fun, they throw the tubes round and eat them to get the hay out

Mine have a hay-coated cardboard tube (about 5 or 6 inches tall) that they run through, and then chew the cardboard. Apparently the hay coating is just cardboard flavoring!

Where did you get that from? or did you make it yourself?

It may have been Pet Smart or PetCo, not sure which. Probably PetCo, since that's what we have here in town. Can't remember how much it cost though.
