This is the sow we just adopted as a playmate for Kahlua. She came in to our Humane Society a couple weeks ago with her male adult mate and 2-3month old babies, one male, one female. I'm wondering if she's pregnant or just fat. The HS didn't know how old she is, just "adult".

I'm no help as im in the same pickle as you with my rescue piggy. Im surprised the humane society didn't check to make sure before adopting her out. The advice I have got is to do weekly weights of her at the same time of day and record them to check for weight gain. The experts on here will give you more advise on how to gently check if you can feel the babies and etc. Good luck! She's beautiful!

If she was kept with the adult boar during labour and since her pups were born its highly likely she is inpig. Only time will tell. Keep an eye on her weight and ensure she gets a good diet.

Poor thing, she's as round as she is tall, eats hay and pellets like a horse, and likes her veggies. I thought I felt movement last night, she doesn't like to stand still for me to touch her belly. Guess I'll have to get a scale. The guy that helped us said he wondered if she might be. Gee, ya think? Good luck Kale and thanks Kayleigh. And she needs a new name. Coco just doesn't suit her.

She is very pretty. I would suspect that she is pregnant if, like kayleigh says, the boar was still living with her when she last littered. ...and i do think she looks rather rounded! As for name suggestions...Willow? Nutmeg? Definitely something pretty!

Even Corey, my 13yr old thought he felt a movement, he thought that was pretty cool. So must be at least 4wks if it's movement, right?

You usually feel movement at 5-6weeks along.

You'll have to just wait, it's a pain in the neck but it's worth it once you see the babies.

I know she's getting bigger every day. I'm scared to touch her belly, both because she scoots away and I don't want to hurt her or babies. I'll post new pic tomorrow. This is going to be the longest 1-3wks ever!
