Tonight we discovered that our other female that we got only 7 weeks ago is pregnant. She has not been anywhere near our boars and is housed with our other female Izzy. We thought she was just putting on weight as we have been feeding Izzy more whilst she has been nursing her babies (weaned 4 days ago) She had to have been pregnant when we got her... In April. ... Tonight we felt babies moving in her tummy and her pelvis is starting to separate.... I Was so not ready for surprise littler as it has only been 4 weeks since Izzy had her babies. Bella is so fluffy that it is only now that we can see that her shape has changed dramatically in the last week. I hope she and the babies are ok as we have no idea who dad is as we got her from a pet shop for our sons birthday. Pet shops need to take more responsibility when it comes to selling piggies

I modified your post to get your pigture to show, hope you don't mind.
Poor Bella, it's such a shame when that happens. As you say, pet shops need to be more responsible and be more considerate of their animals' needs and care.
I'm sure she'll be okay, though. Chances are she'll give birth while you're asleep or not around to watch her. Fingers crossed it goes well.

It's sad that pet shops don't care about the care of their guineas...Or we could say are just very uneducated on them. That is one reason why when I bred guinea pigs I didn't send them to pet shops I'd feel like I was sending them to the butchers etc. Plus the fact I like to meet the people who wanted my pigs had a big role to play with it so I could give them all the info that I would want to know if I was starting to get into guinea pigs. As "Orlaith" has said though I'm sure she will be ok she looks like a healthy girl. Just keep us updated and of course keep them photo's coming! Now I'm all excited to know how many she will have! And what colours and boys/girls ahhhhhhhh >.< I said I would be good and keep back breeding for a few years but now I remember how amazing it is!!!! I need someone to control me! Keep us updated!!!!!!

I think she is getting very close. Her pelvis is now approx 1.2cm wide. She is still eating and drinking very well so I cam going to put her cage in our bathroom tonight (right next to our bedroom) so if she does go into labor I will hopefully hear her. I hope it is soon as she looks so uncomfortable
