I just lost my little Ferdie he was only 2. He had emergency surgery to remove a bladder stone that was stuck in his urethra. He couldn't pee or anything. He survived the surgery but died the next day. Has anyone's pig surviveed stone removal?

Yes, my girl Annie had a bladder stone removed and survived for a few months afterwards (it was a separate illness that caused her to die, not her stone).
The stone itself was very big but the vet managed to get it out in one piece. I've heard that stones can be a little more complicated on males because of the narrowness of their urethras. The surgery is also very delicate as pigs' bladders are so tiny.
I'm really sorry to hear about your boy. It's always hard when they leave us, especially when they've been getting treated for something. Complications arise from any surgery, but it sounds like he was in pain so you had no choice but to operate, so don't blame yourself or feel bad. You did the best thing for him. You couldn't have left him without the operation so you had no other option.
