Hi everyone, new member here, and I just posted in the introductions section but wanted to make a thread here for my new sow Pumpkin's pregnancy and litter. I just took in Pumpkin as well as three other sows from some folks I found online who apparently have been letting their pets just breed willy nilly and now just desperately trying to give them away because they have far too many (and only one cage, so none separated), anyways when they showed up with FOUR sows instead of the one I had wanted, and made a comment about getting rid of the others somewhere, I agreed to take them all, including miss Pumpkin who is visibly and obvious expecting a litter in the near future. I do have experience breeding guinea pigs, so I am not overly concerned except for the fact that I have no idea what she is bred to (father? brothers?), and that she likely hasn't had the best care, but I will remedy that now, she is now in her own cage and seems much happier with the privacy. The other three sows could also be bred, but there is only one I am suspicious about looking at her. Anyway, this is Pumpkin, a very nervous but sweet sow!

She is such a pretty girl! I am glad that you took all four and they will be treated the way they should be from now on. It is so difficult to see piggies (or any animal, for that matter) in less than optimal conditions. I hope she has a trouble-free pregnancy and delivery, and fingers crossed that the others are not pregnant.

Pumpkin is beautiful. Her colouring is lovely.
She does look a bit pear-shaped alright. Can you feel any fluttering when you place your hands on her sides?

Oh yes< can feel them moving and grinding their teeth! Her sides visibly shift so she is 100 percent pregnant!

Just wanted to quickly update on Pumpkin, she had three beautiful large pups early this morning! All are healthy and beautiful, and Mom is exhausted but figuring out what she's supposed to do. I've left them alone to relax a bit as Mom was obviously very confused and stressed. Will update with pics once the pups are dried and Mom is recovered a little more

They are all doing great! Cheeky little cuties, they are running Mom around now and rumble strutting, so I think at three weeks they'll have to come out for sure. They've been introduced to some of my other pigs, and all went well.. I've really taken a liking to the little longer haired boy (who my husband calls Maurice), so we're thinking about keeping him LOL. I'll upload some newer pics here later tonight
