No Pigtures as of yet but on April 9th Pretty Pigtunia safely and easily gave birth to three wonderful bundles of pups. All are American Shorthaired pets and their sex is still a mystery. I have named them Love,Joy, and Peace for while they remain here as good pet homes will be found for them all. First is Love who is all black except for a large blaze of Red on their face . Second is Joy who is mostly Black with a tiniest of a Red star on their forehead and a full red right hind leg Third is Peace who is a self Red
Mom and pups are doing well and Pigtunia's cage mate Tulip has been firm but kind to the pups when they run to her instead of Mom.
I'll try to get some pigtures soon to show off the happy, healthy trio

Thank-You, I thought Daddy was Gizmo, but after the coloring and complete lack of any white, as well as adding on the fact that Pigtunia was housed with Poppy and her two pupsters, and adding in the fact that Poppy is not far from popping again by her son who was removed at three weeks but got his Momma pregnant that Daddy of this litter is also the Boar pup of Poppy's. He was a Black and Red American Smooth Haired. Not sure on the Dutch pattern being dominant or not in GPs, but I know in Dogs it is quite dominant and always shows up in spots.

Congratulations
With regards to colours, its very much dependant on genetics rather than visual colours that determine the colour ofnthe young.
For instance a fellow cavy friend bred a himalayan to an ivory satin (white satin) this is a mating iv done twice now and got the same result.
My pups all came out as expected ... white with pink eyes.
Her litter however all came out dark and bi/tri coloured. Very unexpected ... until you look at the pedigree, the satin sow has a red satin parent, red is the dominant gene and this is what caused the dark pups.
So the father could well be any of the boars.
I look forward to seeing pictures.

Last but not at all least is Peace Attachment DeletedI believe Peace is Female Attachment DeletedI know your not supposed to have favorites but Peace is just so mellow and sweet while the others are rowdy and rambunctious popcorning about and nibbling poor Pigtunia's fur which is making her look like a raggy thing. She finally put her paw down on the hair chewing so the two rowdy pair have now taken to sipper play making the corner where the bottle is soaked and needing to be tidied daily the silly pups. Peace stays near Momma and bounces about her in the cage.

They're beautiful!
I think you're right with the sexing but keep checking as they get older. Any ambiguous pigs become clearer as they get older.
