I need some advice on this situation as I've never encountered it before in my pigs...
Earlier I had set up a play area for a group of my pigs (Momma and three pups, Raven and Ruby) to just let them stretch and interact with the pups for the first time. I added one at a time and all went perfectly.. no issues, Mom wasn't stressed and the other girls seemed to be playing with the pups... I was watching them closely in case I needed to intervene... anyways, when I went to go check on one of the pups who got herself up on a pillow and wouldn't get down, I noticed blood on the floor. I immediately started to collect the pups and mom, checking them for bleeding or injury, and then Ruby and lastly Raven... when I went to pick Raven up, she tensed and squirted blood out of her birth canal I'm assuming. Now this is one of my "rescue" girls, yes is most likely bred, but not really noticeably so yet. I put her back in her cage alone so she wouldn't stress because I'm not sure what's going on with her... she's been making "motherly"sounds, and she has bled a teeny bit more, but she's eating and quiet, no distress sounds. Very nervous and flighty but that's not abnormal for her. I have been watching her for at least 30 mins now and she has strained a few times, but nothing is coming out... what is this about? Anyone experienced this? I do not have access to a guinea pig savvy vet, we mostly have large animal and cat and dog, so I hate to bring one there and have them hurt her because they don'tknow what to do...
