Well she had me a bit wondering. I'm still not sure who is daddy as I know her son was removed from her at 3 weeks old and that was 12 weeks ago. I don't remember Gizmo being with Poppy at all, and Pigtunia's litter would have been conceived within the three week frame of Poppy's male pup being in with her and Poppy(Pigtunia was Poppy's cage partner when Poppy birthed her two pup litter) By using your nice chart to see when pups should be due is how I calculated when Pigtunia was bred and at that time I didn't yet own Gizmo. So either Poppy held off delivering by about two weeks or her pup could not be the sire. Can Guinea Pigs hold off impregnation times? I know many other animals can indeed do this but never seen it mentioned with Guinea Pigs before.
Poppy gave birth to four beautiful pups on my lap starting at 12:21 AM and finishing up at 1:34AM. I was honored Poppy felt safe delivering in my lap. The first pup needed a little help from me to pass down the birth canal (He/she had their front paw across the birth channel and until I was able to move it back under their chest Poppy was not making any progress at all. The other three came out correctly and quickly. I have three Black and Orange pups and one Black and white pup. All four are already walking about with Mom and suckling like champs. All are American Smooth Coats.
I took a few pigtures when I had the four pups in a warmed container while Poppy was passing the last placenta. The last two pups born are still wet in the photos but were nice and warm from the heat pad which the box was set upon. I had to hold up the Black and White pup to let you see it's white since it is only on the right hind leg
