Could someone tell me how you choose which piggies to breed together?
I mean do you breed unrelated pigs? I know with some animals mice etc there is alot of inbreeding as it's believed to lock in good traits in future generations, hope that made sense!
But with say African pygmy hedgehogs inbreeding is frowned upon, line breeding is used sometimes by experienced breeders.
So how does it work with piggies? Thanks for reading:)

You need to know your pigs and the lines your using.
Line breeding is a key part as it does lock in good traits as you say. You cannot create bad traits from pigs who have non. Its generally advised NOT to breed siblings. But mother/son , father/daughter or using grandparents is often done and if you read through the generations of the pedigree you will see this.
Line breeding is used in various species (dogs, cats, mice)
I do realise its frowned upon by novice owners, but in all honesty i believe they do not understand the genetics behind it. They put human emotions onto the animals and you cannot do that.

If the boars are young you have plenty of time to find the right sow, so focus on grooming and making yourself familiar with the breed and the breed standard. Its all fun and games, lots of info to pick up too!!
Teddies are all about the coat!!
If your boars are together once used for breeding they may not repair so make sure you have space to seperate them.

I will breed mother/son or father/daughter to get certain traits. I won't however breed those babies back to a parent again. Or I don't like to anyways. I don't know if it's just me being paranoid though I usually keep boars from those pairings and then I buy unrelated sows when it's time to add.
