Is Munch sneezing now & again or sneezing all the time?
Have you changed her bedding or has she been diving into hay? i'm thinking she may have got hay dust up her nose.
It could also be the start of a URI

I think maybe the piggy is clearing their nose. I know hay can sometimes be rather dusty

I noticed that Scruffy was sneezing quite a bit too and then a couple of days ago I noticed a scabby build up around his nose. The vet has put him on antibiotics and saline wash. He thinks that he must have a cold but there was nothing in his chest. The scabby stuff is irritation from rubbing? Does that sound familiar to anyone? Otherwise he seems fine and was such a good piggy for the vet...he was most impressed!

Hi I'm a new member to this forum. I would like to add that my cavy has had problems with sneezing since i bought him 7 weeks ago. So far he's been on Baytril for 10 days and now he is on Septrin 1ml per day for 5 days. He has a runny nose when he sneezes but otherwise eating, drinking and running around normal. He is called Rusty and he is the Abyssinian breed. Very cute and he has a cheeky character.

I had this problem with a couple of mine but I think it was due to some dusty hay because it cleared up as soon as I got a fresh bale.

Hi, i posted a message regarding my guinea pig sneezing i have had him to my vet this week for xrays of his nose and jaw. The vet was looking for elongated roots which can put pressure on the nasal passages and irritate them causing sneezing, he also checked for an obstruction in the nostrals, and a short palette (the roof of his mouth) if too short it would allow the food to be regurgitated back down through the nasal cavities thus causing sneezing. I am pleased to say that all of these have been ruled out and it appears that it is nothing more but an allergy to hay. I have discovered in my local pet shop that another lady with a cavy has the same problem and its symptoms are identical to my rusty. Sneezing, runny nose sometimes milky or green coloured. And unexplained bouts of diarrhoea. He ha been prescribed Bisolvon a finger pinch once a day to relieve the symptoms. He is very active and eats and drinks normal and is gaining weight so its not too bad. Regards Cavyfriend.
