One of the trio has soft poops (if diarrhoea is runny, it's not that) after me over-doing it with their veg. I should've erred on the side of caution as i have no idea wether the girls have had veg before & just what veg Albie had had (i know he's had some). I've put them in my new cage so i can keep an eye on them & hopefully find out which one it is, they're running round the room as i type - bless. I haven't given them any veg today & i know to keep them in this cage isn't ideal as it's only 3ft long. How long should i keep them off the veg & what should i introduce & how much per piggy when the poop is back to normal?

Oh dear you are doing the right thing not giving them any today just give them a little tomorrow then gradually increase it until they are having the same as the others. Maybe their systems aren't used to regular amounts of veggies yet but they soon will be Dawn

It's still soft today so i daren't give them any, i'm going to let one out at a time & examine the poop (what a job . At least then i'll know which one to administer medicine to, should it come to it Niki x

Thanks Kathryn, they're all running around part of the comp room & apart from the soft poops, which i know is only coming from one because they're not all over they're all fine, chatting etc, not depressed at all. I am slightly concered about Lottie, i don't know if she feels thinner, i'm going to weigh her tomorrow & i also suspect it's her doing the soft poos but none of them have dirty bums. LOL Albie's strutting his stuff again as i type bless him, they're so NOT interested Edit: Just done a poop inspection (oh my life LOL) & ALL were normal - i do hope this is the start of things & i know one was Lotties cos i was observing from afar to preserve her dignity

The things we do for Guineas eh lol! I know dandys can make them a bit over regular, would cucumber help replace lost water or is it better to not feed watery veg just after a bout? Glad they are looking better Niki, and you're special brand of TLC is working! jessegee

Weighed Lottie & she's lost an oz, i suspect it was her with the soft poops, i'll see what happens overnight/tom, fingers crossed. The good news is Maddie's put an oz on, Albie's stayed the same, i'm hoping they'll all gain with the slow re-intro of veggies

OH Niki that's nothing my piggies sometimes loose an ounce here and there. I am sure they will be fine soon. Carrots are good to feed as they wont cause loose droppings.
I have just had a thought Niki, it might be the upheaval of moving that has caused it. When Alfie left his mum he got a bout I put it down to the stress of being separated from her and then again when I went away and Heather had him at hers when they came home he got a bout but all the others were fine. So it could be she is a bit like that.
Don't worry they will be ok soon. Tell you what Heather told me to give Alfie some kaolin liquid 0.5ml once and it worked a treat he was right as rain the next day.

I remember kaolin & morphine (or is that the same). I can't find any 1ml syringes, we had some when we had the pups but they've disappeared & i asked at the chemists but they only do 5ml. Would a vet sell me one without asking q's do you think? You're right Dawn, it most likely is all the upheaval; the girls were only at Mandy's a week, then came here & have moved from a hutch to the cage. They've also had 3 different food changes 1. where they came from 2. at mandy's 3. here so no wonder & she is the most submissive/nervous of the group. Niki x

They've had carrot, cucumber, celery & parsley today, in small amounts & i'm happy to say all is well in the poop dept. However, they still are NOT eating the P@H nuggets, all my piggies leave them in the bottom of their bowls They drive me mad, don't they know they're good for them? LOL I will persevere! Niki x

Niki x I'm about to persuade mine that pellets are best! Fudge has Excel but doesn't really like them, H&H have Tesco museli as they wouldn't eat pellets, they were on rabbit mix before. I've read that the Tesco stuff is ok and they don't pick at it, they eat it all. However my two new girls have Wagg Optimum pellets so I'm going to try to wean all my pigs onto that, I'm going to buy some today hopefully if Asda have it in, wish me luck!! Glad they're ok Niki. Mine love parsley
