I was giving all my guinea-pigs a stroke and checking them all over when I noticed one of my sows, Spicy, had a small bald patch behind her ear. It isn't very big, and it doesn't look sore, and I don't think there is a cut or anything there. I'm not very worried but I'd just like to know if anybody knows what's wrong? Do you think she's just caught it on something and it's come out?

What sort of guineapig is she. Rex guineapigsalways have a bit of a bald patch behind the ears. The other possibility is mites and for this you will need some Ivermec which you can buy from Pets@Home. Guineapigs will also lose coat if they are stressed or hormonal.

All piggies have a certain amount of baldness behind their ears, if there is no redness or cuts I wouldnt worry too much just keep an eye on it.

All my girlies have bald patches behind thier ears to some extent...the Abbys do have quite large bald patches, they seem to like being tickled on this bit

It could be just the normal bald patch they all have behind their ears but worth keeping an eye on it thats where some of my pigs developed fungal patchs was on or near their ears and noses
