Bracken - the nightmare goes on

Well, here we are, one week on and Bracken went to have his stitches off... But the tissue around the scar is necrotic and there is still some swelling underneath. The vet wasn't happy with this and she seemed concerned. So he is hospitalised while I'm away (leaving tomorrow) and they will be looking after him at the hospital. In a way, that's better, because I'll feel like he's in the best hands possible while I'm gone. But on the other hand, I'm now dead worried and fear the worse. They're reluctant to operate him again because the skin is too unhealthy. The danger is of course, infection. Some of his skin is going to fall off leaving big gaps for germs to get inside...
Oh I am so depressed. I feel SO guilty I put him under all this and now I fear i'm going to lose my favourite pig. Just seeing his empty cage tonight is enough to bring tears to my eyes. I would never have done it if i'd known what would happen.
Now I just have to pray for the best and hope my little guy will fight the infection and be there and healthy when I'm back...

Oh I am so sorry to hear this but he is in the best place now while you are away. I know you will worry its natural to feel like this but you are doing your best for him.

I'm sure he's going to be fine - at least you know he'll be well looked after while you're gone. He's in the best place to make sure nothing goes wrong while you're away. Don't blame yourself, you just wanted him to be happy I hope he gets better soon.

Well it's not getting better. It's worse.
After 2 weeks at the vet's flushing his wound and the skin healing litttle by little, I was given my baby back with instructions to keep flushing the gaping hole where the skin had broken down.
One week later, checkup : the problem is now that the hole has healed as a hole near the penis, which is not a good place to have a hole. So what to do? Operate him again and stitch it up. Another GA, another 80 quid...
Now today he is due to go for this op, but has I checked him this morning, it looks like he's been chewing hsi willy area!! It's awful, all mashed up. I did notice a little bite down there yesterday but thought nothing of it... Oh dear, this is an absolute nightmare, it's costing me a fortune and my poor baby just gets one problem after another. I'm so distraught. I should never ever have done it. He would still be happy and gorgeous.
Really worried what the vet is going to say/do.
