Just wondered if anyone had any tips now that it's getting warm? I move my pigs' cage into the kitchen during the daytime because it's cooler, and I make sure their water is always topped up - but when I come home at the end of the day they still feel a bit too warm and look completely zonked out! Thanks

you can buy 'chinchilla marble' from pets at home and other online stores, this stays cool in hot weather. or as a cheap alternative you can fill plastic bottles with ice cubes and water and leave them in the cage (but make sure the piggies dont chew them!!!)

Marble slabs are helpful, especially when kept in the freezer. You can go to home depot or lowes (or any flooring store) and buy a 12"x12" marble tile for about $1.50.

Oh that's great, thanks Will look out for a marble square! Bit worried about ice though - I read somewhere that extremely cold water/ice can send a guinea pig's body into shock? Does anyone know anymore about this?
