I think there is a topic here but I really need help. I bought a guinea-pig, Barry, on Saturday, and he had dandruff and overgrown claws. I was angry enough that the breeder had sold him to me in such a state but I only noticed when we got back. So I clipped his claws and washed him and he seemed fine. Then, when he was drying I noticed little white wriggling things on his head that my Dad said was ear mites. I know nothing about them and really need help. He is sitting on the floor in a towel in a little make-shift cage for the next few minutes whilst I try to work out how I can help him. I can't get to a pet shop until tommorow afternoon because they will be shut by now and I am panicking like crazy. I am so angry with the breeder for selling him to me in this state and I just want to make him better. He doesn't seem to be itching or anything but I have only known about 30 mins, and they are very very small, my Dad spent about ten minutes looking then only noticed once I pointed them out. Can somebody please please please give me advice on what to do with him until I get anything from the shop to help him?

I used Johnsons Small Animal Shampoo
My Nan knows someone who has lots of guinea-pigs and says she will phone her for me and ask for advice, and Barry is living in a seperate hutch for the time being.

Yes we use Johnsons spray as well and it rids them of fleas and static which is probably what your guineapig has got.
