Hi everyone,
Sorry for not being on the forum for such a long time. We have been fairly busy over the last month with moving house and going on holidays. Things are starting to calm down so i should be back on more regularly now:)
Unfortunately i got some bad news yesterday about Lola. I noticed in the afternoon that she was not being herself had lost her appetite so made an appointment with Eamonn the vet. My boyfriend had to work late so Orlaith kindly offered to take me to the appointment. On examination Eamonn found two tumors on Lola's reproductive organs...One very large irregular mass and another small one . He said he could operate but it wouldnt be fair on her as she is pretty sick at this stage and probably wouldnt make it through the surgery. He gave her steroid and baytril injections which should perk her up for a few days and give us the chance to spend time with her and say goodbye. She is booked in for Friday evening to be put to sleep. I had a feeling something was up with Lola lately as her coat had lost its quality over the last few months and looked quite dull but she has been behaving normally and eating lots so I thought she was okay and didnt see any need for concern.
This was so unexpected and i feel so upset and also guilty wondering if i had brought her in a few months ago when i noticed the quality of her coat changing...could Eamonn have helped her when the tumours were smaller. I am dreading Friday and the thoughts of saying goodbye to my beautiful little piggy and feel really sad for her 3 friends who im sure will miss her dearly, especially her side kick Lucy It just doesnt seem fair... Lola is only a young piggy xx
