Has anyone had this kind of problem with baby piggies? I have tried to twist them back etc but they won't stay in the position they should. They seem to disturb the baby, he is constantly trying to keep his eyes closed etc.

Awwh I am glad to hear they are back to normal. Did you ever find out why they were twisted?

I heard it's not so common, but it's not so rare either. Usually they should be ok after few days. Now the baby has normal, healthy eyes.

I've never seen anything like that before. Poor little piggy, that looked sore!

My Little male Himalayan piggy was born with that two weeks ago. I left it and then had to go away for a few days. When I came back and went to look at him his pupil is now white, where it was pink when I left. I am pretty certain he is now blind in that eye. I just wish I had gone to the vets sooner. He is going on Friday just to check, Needles to say he will be staying with us rather than going to a new home. He seems very happy otherwise and very vocal !!!

I read just recently (in my new Guineapiglopedia) that it can happen a lot with newborns and can sometimes cause corneas to form but usually it sorts itself out within a few days. Sometimes, though, it doesn't and the piggy needs an operation to stop the eyelashes twisting in that way.

when my clover had babies the samllest had exactly the same for a while i thought he might be blind and the eye kinda looked funny but after a few times of carefully pushing them the right way the eye lashes stayed and his eye got better
