Lice?

Hey all!
We live with our friends who also have piggies (but who live in a separate room to ours) and their girls seem to have lice (really teeny tiny brown crawlies - are these lice? They don't seem to be scratching or have any sore patches on their skin).
We don't share fleeces/hay/anything really, so what are the chances of our pigs picking them up? Obviously we won't be going near their pigs for a few weeks until they've been treated.
And if ours were to get them, what is the best way to treat them? Should we bring them to the vet, get some gorgeous guineas products or use some other shampoo?
Thanks!

It sounds like running lice, I think it would be best to treat the piggies who are away from the ones who have lice with ivermectin just to be safe and the ones who have lice, you should bathe with a shampoo to kill the lice then a week or two later treat with ivermectin also. Try not to use two products at once as you could cause harm to your piggie. You can get the shampoo from your pet store or the vets its up to yourself. Its strange that the piggies arent scratching as lice bite so i wouldve thought they would be itchy.

Might take a run to the pet shop and see what they have in, otherwise I'll order the gorgeous guineas and use that.
We just bathed Gibbs and Ducky too, they'll be so mad!!!
