I wanted to ask a question, Ive been syringe feeding my Blossom now for two weeks, and today for the first time ever shes started to eat on her own and maintained her weight through out the day, do I still need to feed her? Im unsure as what to do can anyone help me?

personally from experience, if she is eating on her own i would let her, but keep a very close eye on her weight, if she loses any, then syringe feed her again, but she needs to be hungry else she wont have any desire to eat on her own and if your syringing her then she wont be hungry, i would give her a day or so on her own,and if she maintains her weight then fab, if not (even the slightest drop) then start feeding her again,a couple of times a day. dawn x

Ok thank you, I shall see how shes goes on through the night and weigh her in the morning, if shes lost then I will feed her, shes had gut stasis due to an infection, and today everythings normal, poos, her wanting to eat her veg and dry food and hay, so I hope everythings all behind her now , touch wood, shes been through a hard time, the last two and a half weeks.

Yes I agree with Dawn Lets hope she carries on eating by herself. Just keep a very close eye on her weight and top her up with syringing if needed.
