Hi guys, desperately need advice, one of my girls had a litter over night last night, 4 piggies but one dead! Now one of the 3 remaining babies isnt doing well at all, think mum has rejected her as wont go anywhere near baby, and now baby is just lifeless, laid on her side and twitching loads. I tried to feed her some warm milk off a spoon but she wouldnt have any, i put her back with mum and an hour later she is getting worse, i have now brought her inside the living room and sat her on a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel, i think im going to loose the baby, can anyone suggest anything to help baby? I could cry at the moment poor baby looks so ill!! Steph

Mum is probably not feeding it because she knows there is something wrong with it. Nature is so cruel sometimes but if it wont feed then you will lose it I am afraid

Guineapigs are generally very good mums and if they reject one it is usully because there is something wrong with it and instinct kicks in. You can always try feeding puppy milk, but unfortunately babies that are weak to start with usually don't survive. I know how upsetting it is, believe me I have been there several times over the years.
