Last night when I had all of my girls out, there had been some dominance wars going on but nothing too serious, just the normal.
the other 5 girls were away from Molly when she jumped and squeaked in pain. it's certainly not normal behaviour so I checked her out and when I pressed her abdomen she started screaming. this was about 11pm so I put her in the carry case so she's not stressed by the dominance wars and kept her with me over night.
I checked her over again this mornig before I rang the vet and her abdomen is swollen and very hard and as soon as i even touched it without putting on any pressure, she started screaming again.
got an appointment at the vets in about 25 minutes, i'm just really worried.

The vet said that it's colic and gave her an injection of zantac and one of vetergesic. one's an analgesic and one's to help her digestion system get going again. she's been on her own and i've been keeping track of her - she's had some sort of diahorrea her entire front/underneath was soaked and it was bitty so i wiped her down and dried her off. she's not eaten anything and drunk even less. going to ring the vet again I think
anyone else got any ideas about what I can do.......?

Pinigig, i'm so sorry to hear about Molly, if Dawn is right and it is bloat it doesn't sound good i'm afraid. Here is a link to Peter Gurney's advice on it. It's not good that she is not eating or drinking either, they don't last long without food as their digestive system starts to pack up. I had one with diar. and he wouldn't eat anything, i trued to force him but it was no good and he didn't last. I'm so sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Perhaps you can try some of what Peter suggests here or even inform the vet as they might not know this much detail. My very best wishes to you and Molly xx www.oginet.com/pgurney/bloat.htm

oh dear - well I went back to the vets this afternoon and i was given some baytril and some nutrient sachets. I've been syringing water into her but it's not having much effect. she doesn't seem to be in much pain and she IS passing solids which i'm taking to be a good sign. i'll keep her monitored over night and see how she is in the morning
