Hello I need some comfort right now as i feel awful. My beloved Oliver fell out of his cage last night. It was my own stupid fault i turned away for a moment and he pushed the door, falling quite a drop.He seemed stunned for a moment and started making snuffly noises, which settled. We checked him over and saw his tooth had snapped. He seemed a bit coughy for a while and i was worried he had swallowed a chip ! He settled after cuddles and did nibble food..welll tried. We kept him in last night with his lady friend and he seemed ok just bit snuffly and odd cough. His little lip was bit swollen. This morning i made the dreaded walk downstairs and found him chirpy and welcoming as normal. He cant seem to eat properly bless him but is eating hay as normal.I cant tell you how bad i feel infact i have kept filling up all day as i love him so much. I just need to feel i am not alone right now :{ Helen ...bad owner

(((((hugs))))) You're not a bad owner Helen, sometimes accidents do happen and your post shows how upset you are over this. Teeth do grow back very quickly so it shouldn't be a problem for long and if he's having trouble eating you can syringe feed him. It's wise to take him to the vets for a check up just to make sure he's alright so you are doing the right thing.
I know how horrible it is when you're worried about a beloved piggy (((((hugs))))). Sending loads of healing vibes to Oliver and I hope all goes well at the vets. xxx

Oh you poor thing! You must be so upset. Amy is right though, it doesn't make you a bad owner at all. Accidents happen no matter how careful you are and Oliver is lucky to have a mum that cares so much for him and will keep a close eye on him.

Hello all Oliver is ok ;D ;D He went to the vets last night for check up and has a bruised rib and broken tooth but the vet says his chest is fine and he will be ok.He has been given some pain relief but seemed normal chirpy self last night and had some grated beetroot and carrot which he scoffed all up.He is back in his cage and cindy..Mrs Oliver is licking his ears and looking after him as usual. I am much happier today and so glad my special boy is fine !!!! Thanks for kind words nice to know my cavy family is looking out for me Helen x
