Hi I have read through other posts but I'm not sure if the symptoms are the same as Arthurs - as they mentions claws - but this is Arthurs Toe as well as his claw!? location: His front left foot - second toe/claw from the end is twisted to the outside of his foot..... It's very noticeable and I am worried that he may be in pain? It looks odd and just seems to twist at an angle that looks painfull? Should I get this checked out by a vet or is this normal? Could it be broken?

Sorry for the large photo! the first shows the toe joint/pad swollen and twisted and the 2nd large photo show the twisted claw and nail. what do you think? Thanks in advance It could be a nail bed infection which has caused his toe to swell which in turn has caused the adjacent nail to curl. I personally would have him checked over by your vet.

:-[poor arthur - he has broke his toe! the vet said that the joint has been broken but it set that way now but he will be fine. He did say that the toes starts to catch on things then he told me to come back in and he may have to remove the toe! - Lets hope for arthurs sake that he doesn't need this done!! - I think my vets must think I own a zoo! I have 11 hammies in my care and as I foster hammies and rehome them for a animal rescue centre....so they see me often when I come in for checks and things for my little furry friends.....The vet was so kind that he did not charge me for my consultation fee for Arthur and he also checked Merlin over too... He thinks I'm a star for rescueing all these little ones. I was very humbled by his offer - as it really does help not having to fork out costly vet bill all the time! Arthur is such an energetic piggy that he jumps - popcorns all the time and when he has floor time he goes mad and scuttles around everywhere - opposed to Merlin who is a lazy chilled Cavy lol.... So Fingers crossed that Arthur is ok and that his foot does not hamper his fun time!??

Aw, poor little guy! One of my babies hurt his shoulder before Christmas and even though he was limping away, it didn't stop him running around (in a limpy way!) and having fun with his brother, so I'm sure your piggy will be fine
