Hi i am a very confused owner of 4 girl piggies, 3 live together, one developed sores on her front paws, they were swollen and had scabs on, looking very sore. The vet has been treating her for three weeks now and I dont think she is getting better. She was on Baytril twice a day and Metacam once a day, bathing with salt water twice a day. second week, no Metacam and baytril oncae a day, still bathing, third week baytril once a day, bathing twice a day and ointment put on twice a day. She insisits on pulling off scabs and making herself bleed, she was put on her own for a week but stopped eating, I have all three of them on towels, I just dont know what else I can do. The wounds are bloody not weeping we are keeping it as clean as we possibly can, vet did try dressing but she wasnt having any of that. They used to have a ramp in their home which was covered in carpet, could that have caused it? I am so so sorry this is so long I just wanted to get as much info as possible. Thank you for reading this.

Hi Maisie, I have just read your post and though I have not experienced your problems myself I wonder if you have looked at the Peter Gurney sites for some help with your problem. I have just looked myself and there is some info on there re bumblefoot www.oginet.com/pgurney/index.htmlwww.smellyhippy.com/Peter_gurney/preface.htmlI would doubt very much that the carpet was contributory in causing this, surely all your piggies would have the problem if it was a contributory factor. Good luck , hope you sort it out soon

Thank you for replying I had read one of them but not the other, I am still not convinced its bumblefoot, but as long as we can get her better thats all that matters. Thank you.
