How long after Smokey's neutering should I wait to put him back in with his already pregnant partner Jane Russell. I am just worried about the incision points. The vet said one week, but is that right? I trust you all's knowledge more. He is alert, happy and eating right.

It's normally six to eight weeks after the operation that you can put the boy back in with girls. That's just to make sure that all the sperm he has built up is gone and he can't get anyone pregnant again.

Well we kept our boy separate from his already-pregnant girlfriend for a week to allow him to rest up and then we put him back in, but we took him back out close to the birth as the girls can get pregnant again within hours of giving birth. He then lived separately until the six weeks was up and we put him back in. A back-to-back pregnancy is very tough on a sow so it's best not to risk it.

Okay thanks so much Orlaith! And I will definitely separate the two near birth.
