Afternoon everyone, Pip has a line of small spots/dry skin just up from her nose, Im not 100% sure what it could be. It may be a fungal infection or just something innocent, her rubbing her nose against the cage. I just wanted your opinions/advice before treating. All my girls have been treated with ivermectin (2 weeks ago) so it cant be mites/lice etc. Its not the best picture ever ( she wouldnt sit still ) she knew it was grass time. Thanks in advance

Hi It is what's commonly known as a fungal nose stripe. Why they appear no one seems to know & i've never had a piggy who's had one & it's spread elsewhere. I have a piggy with one at the moment & have chosen not to treat it.
In the past i have used an anti-fungal cream (canesten) on previous piggies which has seemed to work but others have said they haven't treated & it has gone as quickly as it appeared.

I also had a piggy with this and I just smeared a small amount of Sudocreme on it and it cleared up very quickly...whether it was actually the cream or not I don't know, but it didn't hurt

I was wondering about that as well. My Mabel has a little line on her nose, not even as distinct as that, and I mentioned it to our vet and he said it was nothing to worry about and we didn't need to stress her out by treating her (Mabelly-babelly doesn't like being touched very much). Good to know what it is though!
