Grease glands can be quite difficult to clean. You can use washing up liquid and a soft toothbrush or if that doesn't get rid of it then Swarfega is very good and will usually move it.

I do my boys' grease glands when they get bathed. I use fairy liquid and rub that on the greasy spot and leave it for a few minutes. That softens it up a good bit. Then I use my nails to pull it out, it comes out in bits from their fur but it doesn't hurt because I don't pull too hard. It's pretty gross, but it makes a big difference!
