hi there i look through my piggies cats every other day just to check alls ok and noticed my little teddy sow has very dry flaky skin on her rear end covering her um and thighs, her shoulders are clear though. its just flaky to the touch and does nt appear to be red or sire underneath apart from in two areas which are tiny and i think shes been having a little scratch at. any ideas anyone? i ve heard teddies do have dry skin and im wodering if i ve dried it out further giving her a bath a few weeks ago. all the other pigs coats are clear and theres no sign of any creaures on any of them, they have a fab diet and plenty of fresh vit C daily. can anyione help?

Hi, My Percy got very flaky skin just on his rump with no sign of anything like mites so i assumed it was a fungal infection and treated it as such. I bought CocoNeem Melt and Manuka Neem Shampoo from Gorgeous Guineas. You rub the melt on the infected area, leave it to work into the skin for about 10 mins and then use the shampoo to rinse it off. You do this 3 times, each a week apart. I did that with Percy and it cleared it up totally i was so impressed. See: www.store2go.net/shop/gorgeousguineas/p/category/0509063147-Marvellous+Melts/It recommends using this treatment when you are unsure of what the infection is so is worth doing. I can't recommend them highly enough, Chrissie at GG is always happy to give you advice too.
