over a month ago my guinea pig had a really bad ulcer on her eye it has healed now but the eye does not look the same anymore it is smaller then it use to be and now sometimes she sleeps i notice the one eye is shut tight and wont open. So then i usually will come back in a about a hour to look and the eye is opened. She also has a head tilt since the ulcer on her eye and it seems to get worse when the eye is closed. Does anyone know if that is what usually happens after a bad ulcer will it just slowly go away. I talk to the vet and they don't really know either

Iv never experienced the head tilt effect with any of my piggies after an eye injury, I wouldnt have thought it was normal though. I would get a second opinion from an exotic vet just to be on the safe side. Does it look like the eye is painful? Is your piggie still eating, drinking, is she her normal self?

One of my piggies had an ulcerated cornea a few months ago and ever since, her eye hasn't been quite the same. Now I haven't noticed her with her eye closed, but the injured eye seems a lot weaker than before and she doesn't always open it fully. It looks like she's glaring at me sometimes, squinting her eye at me. Like your piggy, she doesn't have any pain. And it's only some times, her eye might be half-closed one minute and fine the next, but there is definitely a difference. So maybe it just takes a long time to heal?
