Hello, I am new to this guinea pig thing. I was given 2 pigs a male and female, who was pregnant just prego when i got her. She is now close to delivery, with in the week by my guess. I just noticed that she is a little warmer than the male and was looking for advice on what to do, if I should panic, if this could be a symptom of early labor??? Any help would be great!! Thank you.

I know nothing about that. None of my guinea pigs have had a fever (not that I remember anyway), but do you have an emergency vet around? You could probably call and ask them. I have one about a half-hour away and they are very nice about answering my questions. The one near me doesn't have a lot of piggies for clients though, so they might not be quite as knowledgeable on guinea pigs.

Hi how old is the sow? How long have you had her? How has her health been since you have had her?
When you say a little warmer, have you taken her temp? Is she being housed inside? One last question *sorry so many* but you say you got given a sow & boar, they arent being housed togeather are they?
Regards Kayleigh

You should take her temp or maybe try to get her to a vet. confirming a temp. just by feel isnt very accurate.
